You will be working as Mechanical Leader and will be part of Robotics and Discrete Automation Business Area for Robot Automotive Division based in Bangalore North, India. In this role you will be reporting to Business Manager - Operations and will be responsible for creating, modifying, and analyzing the design of equipment, systems, or installations, including specifications for manufacturing, fabrication, or construction on assignments of medium to high complexity using established solutions. Your responsibilities Creating / reviewing complete project documents for conformity, safety, and quality assurance Contributing to preparation of specific aspects of design assignments to meet the contractual obligations while adhering to relevant standards, safety, and quality Performing project peer-reviews and utilizing checklists to perform design verification according to applicable standards and engineering guidelines Applying basic design thinking or design for excellence concepts in projects. Ensuring 2D, 3D and other modelling tools usage to promote innovation and productivity Assessing and addressing technical risks and opportunities. Reporting any contract safety, quality, or cost issues to project manager(s) along with recommendations, for resolution Creating work plans and cost estimates for the portfolio of projects in consultation with respective project managers and ensuring quality deliverables on time and at targeted cost Preparing RFQs to meet contractual requirements and providing technical evaluation of suppliers\' proposals Your background Bachelor\'s degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Production) Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in BiW Jigs & Fixture design and BiW Process engineering Good understanding of GD&T, Robot simulation BiW line simulation, and cycle time Skills in preparation of RFQs Familiarity and exposure to tools like Catia V5, Solidworks & Auto CAD Excellent communication and negotiating skills, with the ability to influence at all levels and address key issues with maximum integrity and professionalism More about us ABB Robotics & Discrete Automation is a pioneer in robotics, machine automation and digital services, providing innovative solutions for a diverse range of industries, from automotive to electronics to logistics.
