Job Purpose: To provide mechanical engineering expertise for the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) on underground construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• TBM Design and Engineering:


+ Contribute to the design and engineering of TBM systems, including cutterheads, grippers, thrust blocks, and hydraulic systems.
+ Conduct technical evaluations of TBM proposals from various manufacturers.
+ Develop detailed engineering drawings and specifications for TBM components.
• TBM Assembly and Commissioning:


+ Oversee the assembly and commissioning of the TBM, ensuring adherence to manufacturer's guidelines and project specifications.
+ Coordinate with the electrical and control systems teams to ensure seamless integration of TBM components.
• TBM Maintenance and Repair:


+ Develop and implement a comprehensive TBM maintenance plan.
+ Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement corrective actions.
+ Monitor the performance of TBM components and identify potential problems.
• TBM Operations:


+ Provide technical support to the TBM operations team.
+ Analyze TBM performance data to identify areas for improvement.
+ Optimize TBM performance through modifications and upgrades.
• Safety and Quality:


+ Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
+ Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
+ Monitor quality control procedures to ensure the TBM operates efficiently and reliably.
• Documentation and Reporting:


+ Maintain accurate records of TBM operations, maintenance activities, and performance data.
+ Prepare technical reports and presentations.
