:Job PurposeSupervise & coordinate execution of Mechanical Maintenance activities in Cement Mill of Line No.1 for optimizing plant availability and carryout modification / improvement jobs for cost reduction & productivity improvementJob Context & Major ChallengesJob Context:UltraTech Cement Limited has an annual capacity of 52 million tonnes. It manufactures and markets Ordinary Portland Cement Portland Blast Furnace Slag Cement and Portland Pozzalana Cement. It also manufactures ready mix concrete RMC. The company has 11 integrated plants one white cement plant one clinkerisation plant in UAE 15 grinding units 11 in India UltraTech Cement is the country largest exporter of cement clinker. The export markets span countries around the Indian Ocean Africa Europe and the Middle East.2 in UAE one in Bahrain and Bangladesh each and five terminals four in India and one in Sri Lanka. Sewagram Cement Works was commissioned in 2009. The plant has clinker capacity of 3.6 MTPA and cement capacity of 2.4 MTPA. The Unit has two captive power plants (CPP) CPP-I with 35 MV and CPP-II with 22.5 MV capacity. The Unit has mines with reserve of 246.45 MT, a captive jetty, a desalination plant that can filter around 20 lakh litres of water every day and a bag-making plant. KRA1 Accountability- Plant availability:Supervise & coordinate all the Mechanical activities of Cement Mill of Line No.1 to maximize the plant availability to achieve continuous production as per targets * Take plant rounds /study check list daily and identify problems.

• Scheduling of weekly major shutdowns and regular maintenance activities.

• Supervise of maintenance activities.

• Analyze breakdowns

• Take corrective and preventive actions.

• Organize manpower & material required.

• Prepare indent & follow-up for material.

• Coordinate for condition monitoring activities of critical equipments.

• Coordinate with other departments for jobs.

• Updating of daily & weekly checklist.

KRA2 Cost Control:Control cost of all the maintenance activities of Cement Mill of Line-1 as per budget in order to optimize maintenance costs Prepare budget based on past data and future targets.

• Check consumption pattern equipment-wise with respect to budget.

• Take corrective actions.

• Carryout Why-Why analysis.

• Arrange manpower requirement in coordination with other section to control overtime & contractor cost.

• Monitor the indents / inventory

• Mechanize / improve handling system of materials.

• Propose changes / modification for attending leakages.

KRA3 System Implementation:The system requirements of ISO, EMS, WCM systems in cement mill of Line-1 thorough the involvement of employees for improving plant working and quality standard. * Identify and improvement study and kaizen.

• Identify & get rectified.

- Abnormalities.- Spillage/leakages.- Unsafe conditions/practices.5S activities.- Points emerged in compaigns..

• Implementation plan for

- Quality improvement objectives.- Improvement of WCM criteria score.- EMS targets.- Internal customer rating improvement.- Statutory compliance.- Improvement of OEE/MTBF/MTTR- Elimination of muda.

• Does why why analysis.

• Prepare/present weekly/monthly WCM presentation.

• Develop one point lesson.

• Update WCM activity board

• Create awareness in team members.

• Develop visual controls.

KRA4 Environment & safety: * Monitor & carryout all the activities required to maintain good house keeping and safety standards of section.

• Identify spillage /leakage / dust emissions.

• Study problems for corrective actions

• Execute small modifications for improvement.

• Organize timely checking of safety tools tackles & maintain records.

• Educate Workmen / Contract Workmen for safe working practices.

• Analyze accidents, near miss cases.

• Identify potential hazards and unsafe conditions.

• Prepare action plan and implement the same for improvement w.r.t. safety.

• Maintain checklists of pollution control equipments

• . Carryout audit for safety / environment.

• Attend abnormalities identified during audits.

KRA5 Modifications/upgradation:Identify and carryout various modifications/changes required for improvement in plant working on continuous basis in the section. * Analyze breakdowns and suggestions.

• Involve in for elimination of bottlenecks.

• Involve in focussed improvement jobs.

• Attend improvement meetings.
