### Role description


Mechanical Design Engineer



Associate II - Engineering Design



Exp: 3 to 5 Years.



1. Extensive work experience in creating parts, kits, sub-assemblies (from scratch to top-level) & releasing in PLM software's with Engineering Change Management Process.

2. Extensive knowledge on Product Structure Management including Product Structure Tree & Product Option Architecture.

3. Knowledge/Exposure to Design For Assembly & Design For Serviceability.

4. Maintain Model updates & incorporate all design changes.

5. Creating Options and Variants Logic in Windchill.

6. Creation of 3D virtual model which aligns with the real products.

7. Works on Creo CAD tools to make design, document & BOM changes.

8. Responsible to release, revise parts, assemblies & OEMs using PLM (Windchill) & ERP (SAP) applications.

9. Reads & Interprets engineering drawings and rectifies design issues to prevent or resolve manufacturing concerns.

10. Applies manufacturing knowledge in resolving supplier & manufacturing concerns on mechanical design & assemblies.

11. Responsible to work with Design & Manufacturing engineers and execute design release and update activities.

12. Applies problem solving & critical thinking while working on design & manufacturing issues.

13. Ability to handle complicated products and maintain MLO standards for modules/system level with various configurations.


Other Responsibilities



1. Develop BKMs and train the team on lessons learnt

2. Co-ordinate with cross functional teams to resolve the roadblocks to enable faster implementation of Engineering changes.

Job Specific skills/Knowledge

1. Knowledge & experience on product assembly of mechanical & (or) Electrical components. (Hands on)

2. Basic knowledge on metal & non-metal materials, manufacturing processes.

3. CAD knowledge & experience with CREO & Equivalent CAD tools.

4. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse set of stake holders

5. Ability to understand complex machine configurations and the impact of configuration changes.
