In this way, you are helping to shape the way for an interesting and challenging work life.You will join our Energy division- Mechanical and Plant Design (M&PD) DepartmentAs our new Mechanical Engineer you will be part of Energy Department in Chennai working on various Green Transition Projects globally. As a Mechanical Engineer in the M&PD department, you will have a key role in our multidisciplinary team conducting projects of high quality and through this become a trusted partner to our clients.General

  • Review contract documents and understand requirements and scope of work for project execution.
  • Feasibility studies, Concept, FEED, detail design and procurement support, construction, testing & commissioning.
  • Must have a sound technical knowledge on Mechanical equipment - Rotating, Static, and Package equipment.
  • Familiarity with international codes, standards, and industry guidelines such as ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, NACE, DEP, DNV, NFPA, etc.
  • Knowledge of preparation of data sheets, technical specifications, technical requisitions, technical bid evaluations of different type of Mechanical equipment, post order vendor data review and coordination with vendors.
  • Should be familiar and experience in offshore projects - Oil & Gas and Substations.
  • Should be familiar with offshore sub-station layout concepts, global codes and standards requirement.
  • Should have worked in Global multi-cultural environment and carried out Multi-discipline projects.
  • Should have good practical knowledge on Mechanical Equipment handling, installation, maintenance, life extension, etc.
  • Knowledge of material handling equipment selection and studies - offshore would be an added advantage.
Job Responsibilities
  • Execute work in compliance with the project requirements and the Company\'s quality system.
  • Equipment Selection, Preparation / Checking of Sizing / Calculations.
  • Preparation / Checking of Datasheets and specifications for all the Rotating, Static and Package Equipment.
  • Preparation / Checking of RFQ and Purchase Requisition of all the Mechanical Equipment.
  • Preparation of Technical Queries.
  • Technical Bid Evaluation and Technical Recommendation.
  • Vendor Drawings and Documentation Review.
  • Preparation of specifications and Datasheets for Piping components like Valves, specialty items (Optional).
  • Guide Draughts men / Designers if fabrication drawings are prepared.
  • Close Interaction with other disciplines / groups.

  • Bachelor / Master of Engineering in Mechanical or equivalent degree from recognized university
  • 5 to 6 years of experience in total out of which 2+ years in Oil & Gas experience and 2 years\' experience in offshore platforms. Experience in offshore substations / Green projects like PtX, Carbon Capture, Green fuel, etc., will be an added advantage.
  • Well familiar with International codes and standards, materials, specifications, calculations and datasheets for static, rotating and package equipment.
  • Have good knowledge of:
  • Rotating Equipment - Pumps, Mechanical Packages, Gas Compressors, Material Handling equipment
  • Pressure Vessel Design, API-Tanks design.
  • Hands on knowledge with PV Elite and tank calculation software.
  • Knowledge of 3D Model review software like Navis.
  • Good soft skills related to people / team interaction / interface.
  • Strong English Skills, both written and oral.
