As a Mechanical Design Engineer II, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise on a variety of projects and programs in Engine System and Component Analysis group in Aerospace Engines and Power System. In the combustion and emission team, you will use your expert knowledge of engineering discipline and standards, processes, and tools to support combustor analysis method development and combustor analysis activities to help new combustor development for our engine/ APU programs and advanced Technology projects.
Key Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Design Engineer II, you will be involved in aero-thermal design iterations of gas turbine combustor through CFD analysis. Your primary responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Conceptualize design iterations in 3D CAD model, prepare CAD model for CFD analysis.
Generate high quality meshes for high fidelity combustion CFD analysis.
Perform CFD analysis, predict combustor performance and emission.
A masters degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering or related discipline or a bachelors degree in engineering with 4-6 years of experience in the relevant field.
Knowledge of aero-thermo-chemical processes in a gas turbine combustor
Strong background in CFD
Good verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in programming in Fortran/C/C++
