Job Summary:

Himalaya Medical College and Hospital is seeking an experienced and dedicated Matron to oversee nursing operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. The Matron will be responsible for managing nursing staff, enforcing clinical standards, and enhancing patient experience while fostering a supportive work environment for healthcare personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Nursing Supervision and Management
• Oversee daily nursing operations, ensuring adherence to clinical policies and standards.
• Supervise, mentor, and guide nursing staff to maintain high standards of patient care.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and support staff development initiatives.
• Quality Patient Care
• Monitor patient care services to ensure high standards of safety, quality, and comfort.
• Implement protocols to maintain a patient-centered approach, addressing patient needs and feedback.
• Collaborate with doctors and other medical staff to facilitate seamless patient care.
• Staff Training and Development
• Organize in-service training, workshops, and continuous professional development sessions for nursing staff.
• Ensure all nursing personnel are well-versed in current clinical practices, procedures, and hospital policies.
• Facilitate a positive and professional environment to support staff morale and performance.
• Resource and Inventory Management
• Manage inventory of medical supplies, ensuring availability and appropriate usage.
• Coordinate with the procurement team to maintain adequate supplies and equipment for nursing operations.
• Administration and Documentation
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on nursing activities, patient care, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Prepare regular reports for management on staffing, operations, patient care outcomes, and improvements.
• Compliance and Safety Standards
• Enforce infection control protocols and other health, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
• Ensure nursing operations comply with local and national healthcare regulations and standards.
• Crisis Management
• Respond promptly to emergencies, providing leadership and directing nursing teams in critical situations.
• Participate in hospital emergency drills and prepare nursing teams for disaster readiness.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Education : Bachelor's degree in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) or General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM). A Master's degree in Nursing or related field is preferred.
• Experience : Minimum of 8-10 years of nursing experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or matron role in a hospital setting.
• Certifications : Registered Nurse with a valid nursing license.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and motivate large teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with staff, patients, and families.
• Sound knowledge of clinical practices, patient safety, and hospital administration.
• Proficiency in using healthcare management software and tools for documentation and reporting.

Work Hours:

This is a full-time position, requiring flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
