Job Description

This is a short-term position for Master Trainers, responsible for facilitating training sessions and building the capacity of educators in rural schools across West Bengal. The role requires flexibility in availability and commitment during the following periods:

• 15 days in December
• Full month of January
• 8-10 days each in February - June
• An additional 2 weeks during the rest of the year

The Master Trainer will work closely with teachers and school staff to enhance their skills and ensure successful curriculum delivery. This is a field-based role requiring travel across West Bengal.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Master Trainer to lead the training and capacity-building efforts for the implementation of a skill-based curriculum across grades 1-10. The Master Trainer will be responsible for designing and delivering effective training sessions, mentoring teachers, and ensuring high-quality curriculum implementation aligned with organisational goals.

+ Essential Job Functions

1. Training Delivery and Facilitation

- Conduct in-person, online, and cluster-based training sessions for teachers, focusing on the subject specific curriculum.
- Ensure the training addresses diverse topics in the subject and integrates sustainability practices
- Use innovative and participatory methods to enhance teacher engagement and learning outcomes.

2. Content Mastery and Customisation

- Develop a thorough understanding of the curriculum across Levels 1-10.
- Customise training modules to address varying teacher competencies and regional contexts.
- Provide supplementary resources and materials to enhance curriculum delivery.

3. Capacity Building and Mentoring

- Act as a mentor to teachers, providing guidance on effective curriculum delivery and classroom management.
- Support teachers in integrating subject topics with other academic subjects.
- Conduct follow-up sessions to address challenges and gather feedback.

4. Monitoring and Reporting

- Track and evaluate the effectiveness of training sessions.
- Develop and submit detailed training reports, including feedback and recommendations for improvement.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure alignment with overall curriculum implementation goals.

5. Advocacy and Stakeholder Engagement

- Promote the importance of subject education among school leadership and other stakeholders.
- Represent the organisation in relevant forums to showcase curriculum impact.

Qualification

1. Agriculture

• Degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Education, or a related field.

Familiarity with sustainable agriculture practices.

2.Visual Arts

• Degree in Fine Arts, Design, or a related field.
• Familiarity with cultural art forms and sustainable practices in art.

3.Pottery

• Degree in Fine Arts, Design, Ceramics, or a related field.
• Or practicing pottery making for 2 or more years

4.Computers

• MCA, or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Certification in digital literacy or programming preferred.

5.Food

• Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
• Familiarity with Ayurveda and sustainable food practices.

6.Yoga

• Certification in Yoga, Physical Education, or a related field.
• Knowledge of traditional and modern Yoga practices.

7.Hygiene

• Degree in Public Health, or a related field.
• Familiarity with community health practices and hygiene education.

8.Ayurveda

• Degree in Ayurveda, Medicine, Health Sciences, or a related field.
• Knowledge of Ayurvedic practices and herbs.

9.Music

• Degree in Music, Fine Arts, or a related field.
• Knowledge of traditional and contemporary music practices.

10.Brattachari

• Certification or expertise in Brattachari or related cultural disciplines.
• Familiarity with traditional Indian physical and artistic practices.

11.Renewable Energy

• Degree in Environmental Sciences, Sustainability or a related fields
• Familiarity with sustainable energy practices and technologies

12.Textile and Weaving

• Degree in Textile, Fashion Design or related fields
• Knowledge of traditional weaving techniques

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in training, teaching, or curriculum implementation, particularly in the Subject you're applying for.

Skills

• Strong facilitation and public speaking abilities.
• Knowledge of child-friendly teaching methods and participatory learning approaches.
• Proficiency in integrating practical and theoretical aspects of the Subject.
• Ability to adapt training to diverse educational and cultural contexts.
• Excellent communication, Teaching, and leadership abilities.

+ Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with the latest practices for the subject you're applying for
• Experience in working with rural or underprivileged schools.
• Multilingual skills to engage with diverse teacher groups.

+ Working Conditions
