• Contribute to the market data product strategy and prepare the market data cost business case for change initiatives, new product launches, fund launch and client onboarding.
• Act as the key business escalation point and interface for market data cost between the Securities Services business and HSBC Market Data Services team.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and third party data suppliers to ensure business needs are met, with best fees and terms. Review of internal cost allocations and methodologies to ensure these remain fit-for-purpose.
• Continuous review of market data consumption, ensuring key business stakeholders have data usage and cost information transparency to facilitate strategic decision making.
• Ensure key stakeholders are aware of upcoming contract renewals, usage reviews, audits, with sufficient time for review and negotiation of any contract changes.
• Maintain a strong cost discipline by leading a review of cost saving opportunities, working with key stakeholders to identify, recommend, and implement efficiencies, optimisation, and / or displacements to deliver market data cost reduction targets.
• Develop strong relationships with key third party data providers and support oversight activities including production of data vendor performance dashboards, and co-ordinate regular external service review and internal market data vendor oversight governance meetings, with meeting minutes and actions documented.
• Communication to business stakeholders to ensure awareness of and alignment to third party data. supplier contractual obligations.

Requirements

• Detailed understanding and experience of third party market data management (data suppliers, contracts, license obligations, cost, data usage and flows).
• Strong cost discipline and attention to detail, with experience in building and managing business cases.
• Ability to define problem statements, analyse causes, assess options, and find effective solutions.
• Very strong interpersonal, collaboration and influencing skills across geographies with ability to relate to people at all levels, both internally and externally.
• Strategic mind set, self-motivated, energetic, and results focused with a strong work ethic.
• Highly organised and adaptable with an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently.
• Excellent presentation, negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong IT skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Experience with data supplier selection Request for Proposals / Information, risk assessment, due diligence and governance.
• Demonstrate an understanding of HSBC Group and MSS strategy and Securities Services products and services, platforms, and market data usage.
• Experience with the securities and derivatives markets and the associated market data providers and content including security reference data, pricing, corporate actions, index / benchmark, ESG and digital asset data.
