Job Description

the main roles and responsibilities of a Marine Automation Trainer in a training institute:

1.

Curriculum Development and Planning



Designing and structuring training programs related to marine automation systems. Updating the curriculum to keep up with technological advancements and industry standards. Ensuring the inclusion of both theoretical and practical knowledge.
2.

Training Delivery



Conducting lectures, workshops, and practical sessions on automation systems used in the marine industry. Teaching subjects such as PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), SCADA systems, marine engine automation, electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems. Demonstrating how various automation systems work on actual or simulated equipment.
3.

Practical Training and Simulations



Using simulators or real-life setups to give hands-on experience with marine automation systems. Ensuring students understand the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automation systems on board vessels. Providing training on emergency procedures and how automation systems play a role in maritime safety.
4.

Assessments and Evaluation



Assessing students' knowledge and practical skills through tests, quizzes, and performance evaluations. Providing feedback on their performance and offering advice for improvement. Ensuring students are prepared to handle automation systems efficiently and safely in real-world scenarios.
5.

Industry Collaboration



Maintaining connections with marine industry professionals and companies to ensure the training stays relevant. Organizing guest lectures, industry visits, or internships to give students exposure to the latest technologies and systems.
6.

Keeping Updated with Technology



Constantly updating their own knowledge about the latest developments in marine automation. Participating in workshops, seminars, and training sessions to improve their teaching methods and technical expertise.
7.

Safety and Compliance



Teaching students the safety protocols related to marine automation systems, including how to manage critical systems during emergencies. Ensuring that the training follows international standards and regulations, such as SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) and STCW (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping)
