Manufacturing Strategy Manager - Embedded Software (MSM - ESW) India Group Trucks Operations Position Description The department of Group Trucks Operations (GTO) Quality & Engineering (Q&E) is part of a global function that develops product and process solutions, leading to operational excellence. Q&E Bangalore department consists of Technical Preparation Engineers (TPEs), Software Process Controllers (SWPC), Virtual Manufacturing Engineers (VME) and Diagnostic Engineering & Test Developers (DETD). We are delivering manufacturing engineering solutions to product projects for different truck product classes within Volvo group. It\'s a place where we learn new technologies from both vehicle and manufacturing engineering. In today\'s automotive industries, the amount of software and electronics is increasing in vehicles and also in production environment and processes. Hence, it\'s a challenge to secure good embedded software concepts and solutions at the production line to meet customer satisfaction. Now we are looking for Manufacturing Strategy Manager - ESW who will bring-in smart concepts for manufacturing engineering in embedded systems area for product projects. In this global role, you will work closely with product development teams ( GTT ) and different truck plants. You will be involved in early phase of the projects for different trucks product projects. You will provide key manufacturing inputs to product development teams, Diagnostic Engineers, Manufacturing technology specialists (MTS)/Local technology specialists (LTS) and the process engineers in the plants, who will lead the implementation. That means you are an important person and is accountable to understand, develop concepts for embedded systems for manufacturing. As a Manufacturing Strategy Manager - ESW, You will be the GTO interface towards GTT, functioning as the counterpart for the Global Technology Managers (GTM). With an efficient collaboration, you will secure that Product Development team (GTT) delivers on the project target while supporting GTO Strategic Objectives You will be Responsible to develop GTO input to product strategy in cross functional cooperation with connecting MSM\'s Anchoring / communicating in the GTO technology team and GTT GTM. You will be responsible to collect input via network from Manufacturing Technology Managers (MTMs), Diagnostic engineer & Test Developers (DETDs), Technical Preparation Engineers (TPEs), write GTO targets and driving requirements in decided projects. Create initial Target Assembly sequence in decided projects. Initiate targets connected to driving requirements. You will be providing input to resource plan and prioritize to quote/ response to PI (Project Initiatives) within product scope within competence area. You will be responsible to cooperate with GTT\'s GTM in SCT forum regarding. Anchor product concepts with regard to process. Technology strategies and roadmaps (input to selected Product strategy roadmaps / Technology developments) Contribute in Make or Buy. Assess Technology Readiness Level TRL4-6. You will lead GTO global MSM/MTM/TPE network for assigned competence area. Review and approve deviation from pre requirements/strategy.
