Job Summary

Unistring Tech Solutions is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Cost Accountant to join our Finance and Operations team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting within the manufacturing sector, with expertise in production processes, budgeting, process controls, and SAP (or similar ERP systems). The role involves overseeing cost management for complex defense and electronic manufacturing processes, including Bill of Materials (BOM) analysis, procurement, job works, finished goods costing, work-in-progress (WIP), and raw material costing. The Manufacturing Cost Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring cost efficiency and financial accuracy in our high-tech manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Accounting and Analysis

: Develop and maintain accurate costing models for finished goods, work-in-progress, and raw materials, ensuring alignment with production processes for RADAR, simulators, and communication systems. Prepare and analyze Bill of Materials (BOM) for electronic components, FPGA/GPU-based hardware, and other critical assemblies. Monitor and report on production costs, identifying variances and recommending cost-saving measures.

Budgeting and Forecasting

: Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts for manufacturing operations, including procurement, job works, and production overheads. Track budget adherence and provide insights to optimize resource allocation.

Process Controls and Tools

: Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with financial and operational standards in manufacturing processes. Utilize SAP (or similar ERP systems) to streamline cost tracking, inventory management, and production reporting. Develop and maintain process control tools to enhance efficiency in production workflows.

Procurement and Job Works

: Collaborate with the procurement team to analyze supplier costs, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost-effective sourcing of raw materials and components. Oversee costing for job works, ensuring accurate allocation of labor and overhead costs.

Inventory Management

: Manage inventory valuation, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, ensuring accurate cost allocation and minimization of wastage. Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies in coordination with the production team.

Financial Reporting

: Prepare detailed cost reports, profitability analyses, and management dashboards for senior leadership.

Continuous Improvement

: Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency in manufacturing processes, including lean manufacturing principles and automation. Work closely with R&D and production teams to integrate cost considerations into product design and development.
Qualifications and Skills

Education

: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. Preferred: Qualified Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI), Chartered Accountant (CA), MBA (Finance), or equivalent professional certification. Candidates with equivalent experience in manufacturing cost accounting will also be considered.

Experience

: Minimum 3 years of experience in cost accounting within the manufacturing industry, preferably in electronics, defense, aerospace, or similar high-tech sectors. Broad experience in production processes, including assembly, testing, and validation of electronic components and systems. Proven expertise in budgeting, process controls, and cost management tools.

Technical Skills

: Proficiency in SAP (or similar ERP systems) for cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting. Strong understanding of BOM, procurement processes, job works, and inventory costing methodologies. Familiarity with manufacturing processes for electronic products, including FPGA/GPU-based systems, RADAR, and communication equipment.
