• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 10+ years experience with hardware, firmware, and software, as well as their combined architecture
• Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems or web services.
• Experience in managing large scale infrastructure and automation
• Fundamentals in computer science and RDBMS
• Hands on experience of building large scale systems using AWS technologies

In this role you will be responsible for leading a team of system development engineers, storage architects and technical program managers to create and operate finance systems that support Amazon's global footprint of custom and packaged software running on Amazon Web Services. You will apply the highest standards for quality, maintainability, and performance. The systems we own are responsible for trillions of financial events and payment flows that would rank among the largest countries in the world by GDP. You will ensure that engineering best practices are followed and that software is designed to be highly-available, dynamically scalable, and resilient to continuity threats. You will own the goals and roadmap of the your team, along with the strategic direction of your software and shape of your organization. You will demonstrate strong leadership as you control your own destiny in Amazon's ownership oriented culture.



Our team operates ERP and cloud native micro-services that are among the largest in the world by volume and complexity, and a successful candidate will be able to dive deep into either realm to guide technical decisions with their team. As a leader, you will drive architectural and design choices, invent new features, develop distributed services, and build a scalable, service-oriented platform for our people . You will have experience partnering with and improving your products for your customers. You will not be satisfied with the status quo of compute and storage, and you seek to innovate in the pursuit of better customer outcomes. You and your team will identify and develop technologies for your customers ahead of when they are required. We are creatively and disruptively solving some of the most complex database problems related to immense growth, scaling, leveraging the cloud, extremely high performance and high availability requirements. Your team will innovate, design, build, validate, and operate AWS server systems, and like products worldwide. Your team will engineer in diverse technology domains, including hardware, firmware, large-scale distributed software systems, and Amazon web services. You will establish the strategic vision, and drive tactical execution in defining and delivering your new products and services. Success in this role will be based on stakeholder satisfaction, and the operational excellence that enables FinTech to continue to expand its products and services for our customers.



• Record of hiring great team members and developing leaders
• Communicates well with non-technical leaders and engineers
• Authors roadmap documents, project plans, root cause analysis, and team development documents
• Knowledge and operational experience with the design of server, storage, and/or infrastructure products
• Thorough understanding of enterprise information systems
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional business and software development teams
• Ability to prioritize multiple demands, scoping large efforts and negotiating timelines
• Hands-on experience with Agile development methodologies
• Experience developing in Python for similar modern programming language, such as C++, Java, C#, or Ruby.
• Hands on experience of 5+ years building scalable systems on a relational database, preferably Oracle ERP with high availability
