Roles and Responsibilities:

The candidate will provide support to the Strategy and Governance team in executing strategy and deploying effective governance in the Asia Pacific (ex. Japan) region. Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee Financial Crimes Compliance standards and procedures for the function, based on global policies;
  • Governance & Oversight: Oversee GFCD program governance and implementation. Provide support on ad hoc projects which are managed by Strategy & Governance;
  • Training: Work with respective regional teams to identify, track, and review training needs;
  • Exam & Audit Management: Oversee regulatory and audit examination preparation, process, and reporting;
  • Participate in Global governance forums; Coordinate cross-functional and global projects;
  • Administer Financial Crimes governance forum and related working groups;
  • Support senior management, industry, regulatory and law enforcement communications and engagement;
  • Management Information: Provide oversight over metrics and management information generated in the region.
Job Requirements:
  • Experience interacting with senior members of the bank, control function leadership and compliance subject matter experts such as AML and Sanctions.
  • Collaborative with strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Systemic thinker across the enterprise.
  • Process oriented with a strong ability to develop appropriate program enhancing strategies.
  • Detail oriented and proven execution abilities.
  • Ability to prepare and delivery executive level presentations.
  • Experience interfacing with banking regulators and enforcement staff.
  • The ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization, including Bank staff, management, directors and prudential regulators.
  • Good understanding of an effective financial crimes risk management framework.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with teams of project managers.
  • Ability to work autonomously and initiate and prioritize own work.
  • Solid judgment, strong negotiation skills.
