Service Operations Tools (SOT) program is a part of Business Operations (BizOps) group within Mastercard, which is leading the DevOps transformation at Mastercard through our tooling and by being an advocate for change & standards throughout the development, quality, release, and product organizations. The team's mission is to obsess on the needs of Business operations group to automate operational activities, reduce manual toil and tie everything together through custom applications. Engineers working in this team are experts in software development and DevOps toolchain to build and continually enhance DevOps experience and productivity at Mastercard. Our program follows an iterative approach to development with teams located globally.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Software Engineering to join our dynamic team. As a Manager, Software Engineering, you will play a critical role in leading a team of software engineers to architect, design, develop and maintain software solutions. You will have the opportunity to work on complex and innovative projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive technical excellence and deliver high-quality, proactively adding scalability while continuing to add enhanced value to these products.RoleAs a Manager, Software Engineering at Mastercard, you are expected to perform the following general duties:

• Managing multiple scrum teams of Software developers and testers to develop quality software solutions in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Successfully lead definition, development and delivery of major cross-department initiatives with broad scope and long-term business implications.
• Provide technical leadership and direction to software development teams in the development of Java, Angular and Python based applications and platform.
• Work closely with product and architecture teams on product definition, technical design, and overall execution for the team.
• Ensure the project or effort is adequately staffed; trained and managed. Ensure personnel have appropriate skills and behaviors; and effectively communicate performance results; as necessary, managing each effort within approved manpower and budget guidelines

About You:

• Hands-on technical leader who brings considerable experience doing application development and managing teams by using a broad range of technologies with primary skills around Java Springboot, Angular and Python.
• Experience of cloud deployment patterns, tools, and operational best practices (e.g. Cloud Foundry, Dynatrace, Splunk)
• Knowledge of secure coding best practices and a security mindset when designing, implementing, code reviewing and testing
• Hands-on, technical and people leader who regularly dives deep into everything team does.
• Demonstrate leadership, ethics and values to generate high trust with team, peers, and management.
• Must be high-energy, detail-oriented and proactive with the ability to function under pressure in an independent environment.
• Must provide the necessary skills to have a high degree of initiative and self-motivation with a willingness and ability to learn and take on challenging opportunities.
• Strong communication skills xe2x80x93 both verbal and written xe2x80x93 with strong relationship building, collaborative skills and organizational skills.
• Must be obsessed with results, and effectively communicate objectives and how success will be measured to the team and other stakeholders.
• Have strong decision-making skills, lead retrospection and continually improve as a result.
• Understands how to guide an engineers career including performance evaluation, coaching, and motivation.
• Must have expert level knowledge of software development processes, and be an experienced user of one or more Application Lifecycle Management tools (e.g., Rally, Jira).
