Role ProfileThe Manager, SI Quant Analysis is a key role in the SI Solutions team within FTSE Russell, an LSEG Business. The individual will bring a range of skills and experience including a strong technical / quant background, excellent knowledge of sustainable investment (SI) datasets and, ideally, in-depth knowledge of multi-asset SI investment solutions.The focus of the role will be SI-focused quantitative data analysis and index level insights across equity and fixed income indices. The role requires close collaboration with the FTSE Russell Equity and FIMA product teams, Index Technology and Index Data Operations. Wider teams within D&A are also key stakeholders, in particular SI Data Strategy and the SFI business (including SI Research). The role will report to the Head of SI Quantitative Analysis.Key responsibilitiesThe main objective for the Manager, SI Quant Analysis is to work closely with existing SI Quant Analysis & wider SI Solutions colleagues to deliver against near- and longer-term objectives, including:

  • Developing and implementing a filtering / QC framework for incoming SI index datasets \xe2\x80\x93 to ensure that data is well understood and analysed prior to use in index design, construction and review (e.g. understanding reasons for significant variance/volatility in Scope 3 data & developing messaging for Product & Index Research teams as well as for clients)
  • Ensuring that all suspicious values in SI datasets are identified (via the above filtering / QC process) and flagged back to SI data vendors (external or D&A) for clarification & correction
  • Developing a standardised \xe2\x80\x98SI Data Catalogue\xe2\x80\x99 detailing all SI index datasets (provider, methodology, outputs, use cases, index universe analysis etc.) to support in-house and client knowledge on datasets used in index construction, index reporting and analytics etc.
  • Supporting the development of internal SI tooling that allows both technical and non-technical audiences to interact with SI index datasets \xe2\x80\x93 from running simple coverage checks against specific index universes to creating visualisations to highlight SI dataset characteristics (e.g. biases & trends) across FTSE Russell\xe2\x80\x99s (Equity and Fixed Income) benchmark universes
  • Running analysis on new & existing SI index datasets to support innovation and improvements in index level implementation (e.g. TPI MQ & CP data, Scopes 1-3 Carbon data, ESG scores, Controversies data etc.)
  • Collaborating with Equity / FIMA Product and Index Research teams to support implementation of the above SI innovation work
  • Liaising with relevant internal teams (e.g. Data Ops, IDPS) to support their capacity to onboard SI datasets using (if necessary) bespoke ingestion protocols
Key behaviours and skills
  • Excellent technical and data manipulation / quant skills
  • Proficiency in Excel modelling, python and SQL essential. Experience using AWS
  • Strong understanding of financial data, in particular ESG & Climate datasets
  • Knowledge of product management processes and demonstrated ownership of SI product(s) through the development lifecycle
  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to work in a matrixed, multi-stakeholder business
  • Can deliver at pace without compromising on quality: excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; can prioritize effectively and handle multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Open-minded and diverse mindset; ability to influence and work through others to get things done; willingness to help colleagues; openness to take on new responsibilities
  • Uses insight to make decisions that advance the SI Solutions team objectives and considers (internal and external) stakeholder impact when taking action; identifies/ flags/resolves potential issues early on
  • Takes initiative and demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; highly literate and numerate
  • Quantitative background and a degree in finance, maths or science is preferable.
  • Must be fluent in English
