POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for achieving product orders and sales objectives for the region, designated territory or customer base. In doing so, the position is responsible for driving product sales with channel partners; executing effective sales strategies and tactics; providing sales assistance and business support to channel partners; and performing various administrative, management and product marketing duties commensurate with the position.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales & Demand Generation:
Aggressively seek, pursue and assist in close new and/or incremental sales opportunities on behalf of channel partners. Provide timely responses and follow-up to sales inquires. Develop and implement specialized sales strategies that will secure business with target customers and/or in unique market segments within the region. Assist with devising and deploying programs that build market awareness and acceptance of company brands in the region. Demonstrate an effective level of professional selling skills and product knowledge suitable for convincing customers to accept and buy ALC products and services. Maintain an effective knowledge level of our competitors\xe2\x80\x99 products strengths, weaknesses and sales strategies within the region.
Account Support & Management:
Provide sales and marketing assistance for individual accounts. This includes, but is not limited to: advertising development, competitive analysis, trade show assistance, sales presentation assistance to end-use customers and engineers, reviewing project specifications for compliance, and counseling account sales staff on the correct and cost effective application of ALC products. Obtain business plans from each individual account which clearly state mutually acceptable business commitments and objectives designed to grow ALC market share and then manage (and hold accountable) the account\'s progress in achieving the plan\xe2\x80\x99s stated objectives. Ensure accounts remain knowledgeable of the latest news, policies, procedures, information sources, and support systems necessary for conducting business with ALC. Ensure accounts are well trained on ALC products, engineering tools, and technical support systems necessary for successfully selling and delivering quality ALC systems to customers. This includes organizing local training programs and seminars such as: new dealer startup training, sales training, and technical training. Ensure accounts remain knowledgeable of the latest news, policies, procedures, information sources, and support systems necessary for conducting business with ALC. Ensure accounts abide by all policies, procedures, and requirements necessary for efficiently conducting business with ALC. This includes ensuring that accounts deliver products and systems which adhere to engineering and commercial standards published by ALC. Maintain an effective level of technical and ALC product knowledge suitable for fielding technical inquires from dealers and end-use customers in the region. Ensure the timely delivery of product and technical support services to accounts/channel partners from available support resources. Effectively manage and resolve conflicts that may arise in the region between accounts as well as conflicts occurring between accounts and their end-use customers. Fairly resolve disputes that may arise from time to time between the company and individual accounts. Work with ALC\xe2\x80\x99s Accounting Department to ensure each account\xe2\x80\x99s credit balances remain within established tolerances and invoices remain within acceptable \xe2\x80\x9caging\xe2\x80\x9d tolerances. Update and maintain all necessary \xe2\x80\x9caccount\xe2\x80\x9d information within corporate databases as well as any other information records important to conducting business with dealers and accounts in the region.
Business Planning & Development:
Devise and execute plans and strategies which increase product orders and revenues in the territory. Accurately plan and forecast order bookings for the territory as a whole and for individual accounts. Remain fully knowledgeable on market conditions such as market size and types, political-economic situation, competition, sales channels and other factors important to planning business growth. Contribute to the development and launch of new product solutions which are useful and/or necessary for preserving or increasing business. This includes providing feedback and recommendations (i.e. product ideas, competitive information, etc.) from the marketplace and participating in the development process of new products.
Administrative & Other Duties:
Accurately and timely report all business expenses for the region and ensure that all expenses are properly coded and applied for tracking purposes. Effectively cooperate with other company departments and individuals in carrying out responsibilities and assigned task. Regularly report on business activities and developments from the territory. At all times, protect the business interest of the company. This includes, but is no limited to, protection of company brands, reputations, and intellectual property rights. At all times, demonstrate a commitment to ethical leadership and practice the highest standards of ethics and business conduct. This encompasses relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, share owners, competitors, and the communities in which we operate.
EDUCATION & EXPEREINCE:
College or University degree in one or more of the following disciplines:
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Computer Sciences
Business Administration
8+ years working experience in Building Automation & Controls industry
5+ years working experience selling and marketing Building Automation & Controls solutions
5+ years working experience managing and servicing product distributor accounts
