You are the bridge that connects various de-partments, including Human Resources, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), the Engineering Director, and Finance Controllers. Your primary objective is to manage project resources efficiently while also facilitating competency development. You establish and maintain a strong network with the Europe-an engineering team to ensure seamless collaboration.YOUR MISSIONKey Responsibilities:
Lead (L) in Competency Mapping:
Take the lead in collaboration with SMEs to identify, define, and map the core competencies required across various engineering functions.
Drive the competency development strategy, setting the direction for the organization.
Manage communication and activity planning with the European engineering team, ensuring that training for Indian resources in Europe is organized effectively.
Decide (D) on Resource Scaling:
Collaborate with the HR department to assess and define the competencies needed for current and future projects.
Play a vital role in decisions related to scaling up our workforce, identifying skill gaps, and facilitating recruitment or training when necessary.
Accountable (A) for Resource Allocation and Optimization:
Share accountability with other managers for resource allocation, ensuring that it aligns with competency mapping and project requirements.
Continuously assess and optimize resource allocation, focusing on delivering results for project success and the growth of individual competencies.
Participate (P) in Transparency and Reporting:
Actively participate in creating and maintaining reports and dashboards that offer real-time visibility into competency development and resource allocation.
Participate in presenting these insights to leadership for strategic decision-making.
Be Informed (I) on Roadmap Development:
Stay informed about the roadmap for competency and capacity development by collaborating with the Engineering Director.
Provide informed insights into strategic initiatives that improve the organization\'s efficiency and effectiveness.
Resource Management and Critical Project Support:
Identify critical projects and allocate resources, accordingly, ensuring they receive top-notch talent and support.
Mitigate resource constraints for projects that carry a high level of importance or complexity.
Collaboration with HR and Development:
Collaborate closely with HR in developing training and development programs that address competency gaps.
Contribute to workforce planning initiatives, actively participating in recruitment and talent acquisition strategies.
Process Enhancement:
Continuously identify process improvement opportunities in project resource management, optimizing the allocation of resources and enhancing efficiency.
Collaboration with Finance Controllers:
Work closely with Finance to ensure accurate and timely commercial invoicing data processing after each billing cycle.
Ensure that financial data related to the offshore engineering team\'s logged hours in an ERP/project management tool is processed accurately.
Collaborate to maintain financial accuracy and compliance with billing and invoicing standards.
Monthly Absorption and Risk Mitigation:
Monitor and analyze the monthly absorption of the offshore engineering team, ensuring it aligns with target metrics.
Stay vigilant to identify any potential risks or issues and provide advice to the Director for risk mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with finance, HR, and other relevant stakeholders to develop proactive solutions and maintain absorption targets.
Stakeholder Communication and Leadership:
Foster effective communication between engineering functions, project managers, and leadership, ensuring alignment with competency and capacity development goals.
Provide leadership and direction to ensure effective resource allocation.YOUR PROFILEQualifications:Bachelor\'s degree in engineering, business, or a related field. A master\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99s degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
5+ years of experience in similar environment. A background with project management for large teams would be preferred.
Skilled user of project management methodologies and tools with experience in successfully implementing suitable project management methods.
Proven experience in project resource management, capacity planning, or related roles within the engineering field.
Strong understanding of offshore engineering processes and various engineering functions.
Excellent data analysis and reporting skills, with proficiency in tools like Excel, project management software, and data visualization tools.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
