Manager, Platform Architecture

• Manages the core technical platform, capabilities, and services that support business processes by mapping the relationship between IT platform/infrastructure components and identifying where optimizations can be made in the platform architecture.

Focused on thinking big and scaling fast around the globe, this agile team is responsible for end-to-end solutions for a diverse global customer base. Centered on data-driven technologies and innovation, these services include payments-focused consulting, loyalty and marketing programs, business Test & Learn experimentation, and data-driven information and risk management services.Mastercard\xe2\x80\x99s Data & Services Infrastructure Delivery team is responsible for the deployment, configuration, maintenance, backup and support of multiple on-premise and cloud hosted data centers. In this role, you will help lead key business projects, adapting and architecting our infrastructure to support on-premise deployments of our product. • Manages a team, conducts goal setting and performance appraisal processes, mentors and coaches top talent within own team
• Manages the programming and development of new and existing technologies in accordance with Mastercard standards to support business needs or initiatives
• Supports and performs technical analysis of complex software, hardware, and transmission facility using various diagnostic tools in support of efficient network operations
• Assists in providing technical support for architecting new platform capabilities and setting technical strategies and roadmaps
• Performs holistic platform security posture which includes identifying risks, escalating potential concerns, and implementing both risk mitigation plans and control functions
• Provides technical support and guidance of managed work from concept through delivery in partnership with development programmers and global customers
• Resolves complex infrastructure architecture issues, escalating unique or problematic areas as they arise
• May perform financial planning, forecasting, and budget tracking to reduce total cost of ownership and allocate resources efficiently

Experiences

• Experience partnering with internal customers across development verticals to support project completion, performing system and platform initiatives and provide technical advice to the project team
• Experience leading a major work stream or multiple smaller work streams for a large domain initiative, often providing technical guidance and advice to project team members
• Experience engaging with the broader technical community to anticipate developments in innovation, often evaluating new solutions and recommending future business network requirements
• Experience leading continuous process improvement initiatives and automation activities for operational and financial value by leveraging tools and technologies
• Demonstrated ability to perform technical analysis of complex software and hardware
• Gains experience in establishing well-defined and globally consistent standards by exploring new tools and technologies

Role

• Leading the Procuring, installing, managing, and monitoring physical and virtual infrastructure in both local and remote geographies.
• Leading the Deployment, configuration, maintenance, backup and support of private/hybrid cloud hosted data centers.
• Leading & Supporting multi-geography, multi-cloud deployments across the Azure, VMware, AWS, and GCP
• Working together with integrated, cross-functional Devops and Development teams
• Vendor Management and collaborating with multiple teams across geography
• Automating commonly performed tasks, using scripting tools such as Powershell, Ansible, and Python
• Supporting virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V and VMware.
• Work with internal stakeholders to provision, provide access, and troubleshoot various testing and production resources
• Manage backup and recovery operations for products deployed in the cloud environment
• Participate in on call rotations, responding to after-hours incidents in a timely manner

About You

• Demonstrated ability to manage teams across geographies/continents
• Experience with Microsoft Enterprise Products (Windows server, Microsoft SQL server, Active Directory etc)
• Strong desire to automate common tasks
• Ability to solve complex problems independently and in a team setting
• Competency using industry standard automation/scripting languages (e.g. Powershell, SQL)
• Experience with cloud technology such as Azure, AWS, Google Cloud
• Experience deploying and supporting VMWare at an enterprise level
• Experience with Terraform, or Ansible.
• Ability to juggle competing tasks and prioritize
• Proven ability to communicate with team members effectively
• Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of working in an agile team environment
