Manager - Network Operations (Network Products and Services)
Overview:
The role will be responsible for the ongoing support and reliability of all aspects of the LSEG ecosystems (Platforms, Networks, Applications, Services, and Websites). The focus of this role is to provide leadership to the operations team, ensuring operational stability and ongoing robustness of the LSEG global network.
Role Responsibilities
• Provide leadership for engineering staff undertaking network operations activities.
• Responsible for driving high profile incidents.
• Conducting daily check-in calls to ensure infrastructure is operating at optimal conditions for smooth business operation.
• Supports the technology lifecycle through the design, build and maintenance of systems, software and applications to ensure the highest quality outcomes across the domains.
• Makes technical design and amendment decisions and independently manages the workload.
• Ensures relevant reporting documentation is completed and complies with internal and external standards.
• Schedules and coordinates capacity / network upgrades, liaising with other areas of the business as needed to ensure service level objectives are met.
• Manages upgrades and coordinates internal and third parties where required.
• Creates accurate documentation and monitors system performance to effectively contribute to business and continual improvement activities.
• Ensure necessary ITIL practices are followed
• Works closely with product managers as well as with other business stakeholders.
Preferred Skills and Experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an IT related discipline
• Previous experience in network operations
• Significant experience in technology-based roles
• Demonstrable 7+ years of experience in network operations and project delivery with ideally Cisco, Juniper and Arista and working towards further accreditation
• Routing and switching skills including LAN, WAN, HSRP, NAT, MPLS, VPN, GRE, BGP and OSPF
• Good knowledge of multicast including IGMP, RP and PIM
• Knowledge of low latency and associated technologies as deployed in the financial sector.
• Good knowledge and experience with Data Centre Networking including (Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Cisco ACI, VxLAN, etc.
• Experience in Cloud and good understanding of network security, including best practices.
• Understanding on load balancing technologies, TCP/IP and Multicast, and internet environments
• Good knowledge of required Service Management process, ideally ITIL knowledgeable.
• Proven exposure to financial sector and associated technologies
• Good scripting and automation experience (Python & Ansible)
• Excellent spoken and written English language skills with client management skills.
