Job Profile

Purpose of Role:

• MES India is setting up a Credit Analysis Team for centralizing the credit analysis function for its Financial Institutions clients globally. The coverage includes Global banks and Hongkong based non-bank financial institutions (Insurance, Broker Dealers, Funds, Leasing, Financing, Securities etc.) clients.
• The Credit Analysis team is the Banks first line of defense and works closely with GCIB bankers, Product partners and Credit approvers. We are looking for an ambitious credit analyst to cover a varied portfolio Non Bank Finance (NBFC) portfolio for Hongkong markets.
• The credit analyst will perform forward looking fundamental credit analysis on the borrowers, work on annual reviews of borrower ratings and limit renewals, support on ad-hoc requests and periodic reviews.

• Manage a portfolio of Hongkong Non-Bank FIG clients and undertake objective detailed due diligence of borrowers /industry.
• Managing end to end annual renewal of limits and borrower ratings as per the Banks credit processes and procedures collaborating with stakeholders in Business Product Partners and Credit Division / Approvers).
• Covenant checks and periodic monitoring reports.
• Preparation of periodic sector reports and event-based stress tests of the portfolio as necessary.
• Support Relationship Managers / Credit Officers on adhoc requests related to new transactions or other portfolio reviews.
• Audit management Internal, External including regulatory inspections
• Ability to multi-task and manage ever-changing and often conflicting priorities; Ability to work with a high level of motivation and initiative; Work diligently to develop technical skills and industry knowledge related to the role.
• Ensure accurate and timely compliance with internal policies and reporting procedures.

• Extensive experience in fundamental FI credit/ Insurance /NBFI analysis gained in either a bank, asset manager or global rating agency environment. Prior experience in covering Non-Bank Finance portfolio (Insurance, Broker Dealers, Funds, Leasing, Financing Companies, Securities) for Hongkong markets will be preferred/ beneficial.
• There should be an emphasis on credit analysis in the context of a transaction or event, or a strong motivation to move into a more transaction driven environment.

• Experience of covering NBFI for Hongkong markets. Experience of covering Banks will also be beneficial.
• A good understanding of loan documentation and key credit protections.
• Understanding of market risk products and ISDA/CSA documents would be preferred/ beneficial.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg / CapIQ and similar systems.
