Position: Manager - Intellectual Property

Location: Mumbai

Qualification: LLB / Degree in Intellectual Property

Experience: 8 - 17 years

Job Responsibilities:

Work closely with the business teams of the Company & Trade Mark Attorney in connection with

Brand adoption and trademark registration in India and foreign countries

To perform infringement analyses & take action against infringement including by issuing Legal Notices/ Replies for trademark/domain name infringement, to initiate and follow up on litigation related to IP matters. Review / vetting of pleadings including plaints and affidavits for trademark/counterfeit infringement related suits and Trademark Opposition proceedings.
Business queries relating to various issues relating to Trademarks, Copyrights, Designs, Domain Names and other IPRs.
Advise on IP related risk exposures of the Company & Pro-actively ensure IP protection
Day to day documentation issues relating to Trade Mark, Copyright, and Design Registration across jurisdiction worldwide including IPR documents (Technology License/ Trademark or Domain Names License / Assignment Deeds/ Undertakings/ Settlement Deeds).

Supervising and maintaining databases of Trademark searches, applications, registration, renewals, litigation (Civil and Criminal both).

Liaising with Sales, Marketing Production and Compliance Team.

Co-ordinate with law enforcement agencies and private investigators to identify, take actions or handling existing matters initiated for protection of IPR.

Legal Research and update respective business units of new developments, amendments in law and their compliances. Must keep themselves up to date with various government regulations related to intellectual properties.

Independently develop various search strategies to conduct preliminary searches for registration of trademark, copyright and design.

Should have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
