DESCRIPTION Global Catalog Operations team at Amazon is looking for a highly motivated and talented operations manager to manage in-office and remote team of 15-20 associates responsible for driving global catalog improvement programs. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and a commitment to excellence. In this role, you will be working with catalog associates and leaders in engineering, business and operations domain. Teams\' charter is to drive better catalog quality through a series of programs which include targeted catalog enhancements, audits to monitor catalog health, improve machine learning through manual feedback etc. Key job responsibilities Manage in-office and remote associates, specialists (15-20 people) and oversee day-to-day operations . Responsible for delivering staff performance reviews . Own performance management for his/her team and help the team perform on their responsibilities. . Owns weekly/monthly metrics and process reviews with internal and external stakeholder . Responsible for operations processes standardization for maximum efficiency . Ability to produce executive metrics and make recommendations for process and systems improvement . Initiates and leads process improvement projects, presents solution proposals, and implements them to other applicable/in-scope operational areas . Works with internal/ external teams and uses his knowledge and expertise to execute business goals . Manages escalation/ complex tickets analyzes data highlights trends, gaps, etc. and reports key metrics . Plans capacity and commits to volume by managing resources, queue, shift management, cross training, and leave management . Owns and prioritizes work allocation based on business needs with a daily/monthly frequency . Performs deep-dive analysis and creates COEs (Correction of Error) based on the deviation, problem, root cause, and solutions . Builds robust launch plans for new team members & owns progress tracking of new joiners through a complete administration of launch plans as a mechanism and not just good intention BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 2+ years of program or project management experience 3+ years of team management experience Experience leading process improvements Experience with data analysis and business case development, and managing programs from concept to implementation Strong leadership skills Ability to handle cross functional team to achieve program goals. Handle Key Program escalations and work towards corrective and preventive actions. Partner with the senior stakeholders for the program in terms of reporting program health and highlighting key issues. Proficient in English. Candidate must demonstrate language proficiency in all the following: verbal, writing, reading and comprehension. Working knowledge of basic computer business applications such as MS Word and MS Excel, Outlook. Familiarity with online retail (e-commerce) and Internet search industries PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of data mining using SQL Experience in translating business needs into detailed feature requirements Experience in e-commerce/Hi-tech/Retail industry or management consulting with focus on one of these industries
