Job Description


:Overall Responsibilities 1. Implementation of Global/Regional strategies
2. Create a system and process for a safe work environment
3. Implementation of systems and processes in compliance with ISO standards ISO 45001 (OHS) & ISO 14001 Environment Standards and ISO 27001 ISMS, ISO 9001 QMS & ISO 22301 - Business continuity management.
4. HSE plan & Budgets
5. Incident investigation, RCA and CAPA
6. Auditing &Training Create Safety awareness & consciousness.
7. Inspection & monitoring and tracking of all HSE parameters at regular intervals.
8. Legal Compliances.
9. Group Security management systems
Broad key responsibilities 1. Lead the team in implementing the HSE Management System. by Ensuring implementation of OHSAS & Environment policy across all business operating locations
2. Preparation of Safety operating procedures
3. Ensuring all statutory compliances on OHSAS (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) ISO 14001 and ISO 39001 - Transport safety. ISO 9001 and Security Management System
4. Ensure that risk assessment and Hazard studies are conducted for all new and modified processes and other site operations, and help sites develop and implement risk mitigation plans across all business locations.
5. Develop and drive site OHS targets associated improvement plans including those related to critical and high-risk events/activities in line with OHSAS requirements and tracking progress till completion towards set objectives and targets.
6. Identify and implement key performance indicators for tracking OHSAS and EMS performance and report the performance of OHSAS and EMS to the top management
7. Setup a system for OHS & EMS governance and conduct periodic reviews with all sites
8. Develop, implement, and run comprehensive OHS audit programs in partnership with site teams, conduct OHS audits, meetings, and inspections and ensure compliance to the agreed actions.
9. Provide leadership and guidance to the site for environmental affairs, & Design for a safety work environment.
10. Develop a program to sensitize employees towards OHS aspects, improve their OHS risk perception and mitigation for establishing true OHS culture across all business locations.
11. Implementation of chemical handling process and risk assessment
12. Drive innovation in OHS to prevent any mishap
13. Reward and recognition program for best site performance across all business locations
14. To regularly monitor safety standards and procedures in the BU, and respond to emergencies and incidents in the facilities, providing advice in HSE-related matters.
15. Organize OHSE committee meetings, and provide orientation & safety induction training to employees and contractors including Fire prevention, and Emergency response plans.
16. Make recommendations to the EHS Head on the status of training and suitability of operators, Safety improvement requirements, and hotspot areas where more attention is needed from BU Management
17. Establish, implement & maintain Emergency Response Procedures for various potential hazardous situations and conduct hazmat training programs
18. Monitor the timely submission of all reports and investigate work-related incidents with trend analysis for effective solutions and modifications to work methods or equipment to avoid the occurrence.
19. To provide advice and support to line management on safe work practices, conducting risk assessments and the appropriate control measures to be adopted for ensuring that operational risks are proactively and appropriately managed.
20. Drive HSE training needs analysis in the BU, prepare training plans, coordinate/deliver in-house HSE training, and maintain training records.
21. To ensure all assessment programs are up to date, followed, Periodic audit conducted, follow-up of pending actions, and implementation of new engagement programs.
22. To ensure necessary environmental projects are taken to reduce the energy consumption to achieve NET ZERO by 2030.
23. Conduct safety inspections of work areas and prepare reports of observed safety hazards, violation of safety rules & regulations, for improvements of safety standards.
24. To ensure the efficacy of all emergency preparedness plans through regular mock drills and upkeep of all emergency procedures.
25. Monitor, collate and analyze data for trend analysis & statistics to achieve continual improvement on all aspects of HSE and related training of personnel.
26. To ensure compliance with all Fire Safety related norms, upkeep of all Fire Safety appliances at all locations, implementation of Loss prevention techniques at all responsible locations.
27. Organize various HSE promotional programs, competitions, continuous awareness programs, S&E celebrations, safety awards, and toolbox talk to enhance HSE performance in the BU
28. Coordinate with local authorities and government bodies for mutual assistance during emergencies to mitigate the loss of life and damage to property.
29. Maintain the CIR / HAZARD/observation records on the GHSE Portal. Reviewing the observation and assigning the tasks to concerned persons. Ensure follow-ups and timely closure of all outstanding actions to avoid overdue.
30. Observe provisions of the labor regulations, relevant HSE policy & procedures,
terminal rules & procedures and contribute to the continual improvement process.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma/Graduate/ Postgraduate in safety management, environmental science or related discipline from a recognized university or institute.
  • Should have a minimum 10 -15 years\' experience in the field of Safety Management and Training
  • Experience in incident investigation, HSE auditing, & training.
  • Experience in developing HSE plans and Budgets.
  • Experience in the implementation of ISO certifications
  • Experience in preparing Monthly reports/trend analysis
