Job Description

We are looking for an Engineering Manager who will be part of the India RD&E organization in Danfoss Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Controls Division (RAC). Manager will report to the Head of RD&E in India and be a part of the India RD&E management team.Job Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a dedicated team of Product Engineers who will identify and drive Product Sustainability Projects through Agile Change Control for Customer Requirement, Localization and Supplier Development.
• Continuously map, develop, and maintain critical competences within the team.
• Drive quality of designs within active project road map by coaching and developing the employees.
• Ensure sufficient use of advanced design tools like Design Quality, Simulation, AdM, etc.
• Keep focus on Decarbonization opportunities during implementation
• Lead Product Engineering team at RAC RD&E, Chennai, India
• Support and coach team to deliver on Agile Change Control Projects in accordance to defined plan.
• Drive design projects with focus on zero defects from idea to implementation.
• Focus on using Simulations & Design Quality Tools to ensure efficiency and avoid cost impact.
• Ensure clear communication about status, challenges, and risk for the product designs to key stakeholder.
• Align to ensure close cooperation with Cross-Functional Leaders and with PEERs at other RD&E locations to define Roadmap, Priorities, and effective project implementation.
• Lead by example, acting as a role model, motivating others to creating an environment which inspires people to deliver on commitments.
• Support and coach the team to drive fast learnings and conclusions on projects and continuously improve execution time and quality of product design.
• Create transparency for future projects by highlighting technical feasibility, resource estimation, execution plan, etc.
• Facilitate global collaboration in the RD&E organization and other parts of the organization.

Background & Skills

• Bachelor or Master in Mechanical / Mechatronic Engineering or similar with minimum 10 years of experience in technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in leading a team of design engineers.
• Experience with direct or indirect management with proven track record in execution of technical projects.
• Practical experience with design, simulation, verification, and validation of mechanical/electro-mechanical control products.
• Experience in utilization of Design Quality Tools (FMEA\'s, etc) or Design for Six Sigma.
