Key Responsibilities:EHS Compliance and Safety Standards:
Ensure adherence to national and international safety and environmental regulations, standards, and codes in all electrical engineering activities.
Develop and implement EHS guidelines specific to electrical systems design, installation, and commissioning processes.
Perform risk assessments and conduct regular audits on electrical installations and systems to identify potential hazards.
Advise the project team on electrical safety measures and ensure the correct application of safety protocols throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Electrical Design and Engineering Support:
Provide technical support for electrical design ensuring compliance with all applicable EHS regulations.
Assist in the design and review of electrical systems to integrate safety and environmental considerations effectively.
Ensure that electrical drawings, layouts, and schematics reflect safe design practices.
Health & Safety Inspections:
Conduct regular inspections of electrical work sites to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Ensure the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout procedures, and other EHS safety tools during electrical works.
Address safety concerns related to electrical equipment and resolve issues promptly.
Incident Investigation and Reporting:
Lead investigations into electrical-related incidents or near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Maintain accurate records of safety audits, inspections, training, and incident reports.
Training and Awareness:
Develop and conduct EHS training sessions for electrical teams, contractors, and other project staff to raise awareness of electrical safety risks and best practices.
Promote a safety-first culture and continuously improve EHS practices across the project.
EHS Documentation and Reporting:
Assist in the preparation of EHS-related reports for management and clients.
Ensure that all EHS documentation is up to date and meets industry standards for audits and inspections.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
Collaborate with project engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to integrate EHS policies into electrical system installations.
Liaise with government agencies, local authorities, and other relevant bodies to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Environmental Protection:
Ensure that electrical projects minimize negative environmental impact, ensuring compliance with relevant environmental regulations and guidelines.
Promote energy efficiency and sustainable practices in the design and operation of electrical systems.
