To continue this transformation, were seeking an experienced cloud engineer with expertise in the daily operation, strategy, design, development, and implementation of large-scale projects in the cloud. The ideal candidate is experienced in cloud-based tech, with a firm grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications, and ability to customize them to help our business become more secure and efficient. Extensive knowledge of cloud maintenance, experience managing workloads, and advanced industry knowledge is key to keeping us on the cutting edge. From day one, youll have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our IT operations, and an ongoing impact on our overall growth. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of Public Cloud. You will partner with business IT teams to manage daily operations and execute projects and provide support. You need to develop strong business relationships, provide excellent customer services, and communicate appropriately across multiple levels within the organization.Roles & Responsibilities: * Strategic Planning and Architecture Design:

  • Lead the development and implementation of cloud architecture strategies to support the organization's infrastructure needs.
  • Design scalable, secure, and robust cloud solutions that align with business objectives and integrate with existing systems.
  • Stay abreast of emerging cloud technologies and architectural best practices to drive continuous innovation and improvement.
  • Design and implement Azure DevOps, automation, ARM template and DevSecOps recommendations
  • Operations Management:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization's cloud environments to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
  • Manage cloud resources and services, optimizing for cost-efficiency and operational excellence.
  • Coordinate with IT teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of cloud services and applications.
  • Support data migrations from SQL and open-source repositories into modern Azure data services.
  • Troubleshoot incidents, identify root cause, fix, and document problems, and implement preventive measures
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead and mentor a team of cloud professionals, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Define clear team goals and performance metrics in line with the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required
  • Encourage knowledge sharing and professional growth within the team.
  • Risk Management and Compliance:
  • Implement and maintain policies and procedures for cloud security, risk management, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular security audits and coordinate with security teams to address vulnerabilities and ensure the protection of sensitive data.
  • Provide guidance on cloud security, Azure Policies and Blueprints, Azure Monitor and Azure security and governance mechanisms in general
  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
  • Manage relationships with cloud service providers and vendors to negotiate contracts and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand their needs and translate them into cloud-based solutions.
  • Incident and Change Management:
  • Develop and oversee incident response plans to address service disruptions promptly and minimize impact.
  • Manage the change control process for cloud environments, ensuring changes are tested and implemented without compromising stability.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control:
  • Develop and manage the budget for cloud operations, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud spending, leveraging cost-management tools and techniques to reduce expenses.
  • Provide technical leadership for cloud assessment, forecast and modernization strategy
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
  • Design and implement disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans for cloud services.
  • Conduct regular DR exercises to ensure rapid recovery capabilities in the event of an outage or disaster.
  • Quality Assurance and Performance Monitoring:
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for cloud services to ensure they meet performance and quality standards.
  • Implement continuous improvement processes to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Communication and Reporting:
  • Communicate effectively with IT leadership and business executives, providing clear updates on cloud initiatives and their impact on the business.
  • Prepare and present reports on cloud operations, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives.

  • Deep understanding of cloud computing architecture, including public, private, and hybrid cloud model cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, and including their services and management tools.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Proficiency in designing scalable and resilient cloud solutions.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager templates CloudFormation, or Ansible for automating cloud infrastructure deployments.
  • Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages to streamline cloud operations.
  • Security and Compliance:
  • Strong grasp of cloud security principles and best practices.
  • Experience with implementing and managing cloud security measures such as identity and access management (IAM), firewalls, and encryption.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks and standards relevant to cloud services (e.g., GDPR, ISO, DPDP).
  • Cost Management and Operations Management:
  • Ability to oversee and optimize cloud operations for maximum efficiency, reliability, and performance.
  • Experience with cloud monitoring and logging tools to ensure the health and security of cloud environments.
  • Skills in cost optimization strategies for cloud services, including resource utilization and cost allocation.
  • Familiarity with tools and techniques for monitoring and reducing cloud spend.
  • Leadership and Team Management:
  • Strong leadership skills to manage and mentor a team of cloud professionals.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative environment and encourage knowledge sharing.
  • Problem-Solving:
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud issues.
  • Ability to anticipate potential challenges and proactively implement solutions.
  • Communication:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with IT teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project Management:
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
Key Skills (Nice to Have)
  • Experience in API management tools would be a plus (e.g. Azure API Management)
  • Knowledge of cloud-based relational and NoSQL databases, including experience with data migration to cloud environments.
