JOB OVERVIEW



General Mills seeks an attorney to provide transaction support to a range of teams within its North America Retail (NAR) and North America Foodservice (NAF) Segments. The work is challenging and offers an excellent opportunity to work in a high-caliber, collegial department with other dedicated legal professionals on a wide variety of legal matters. The role will comprise drafting, editing, and negotiating a wide variety of contracts supporting our NAR and NAF businesses, including but not limited to agreements relating to customers, distributors, brokers, suppliers, promotions, and marketing. The position offers the opportunity to work with some of General Mills' most well-known brands and features direct contact with business colleagues.





This attorney will partner closely with U.S.-based attorneys, paralegals, and business colleagues to translate strategic business objectives into legal contracts, driving results while appropriately managing risk. This attorney will be a member of the General Mills Law Department's "Contracts Center of Excellence" (which is responsible for providing the department and its clients globally with tools and processes for contracting).








MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 8+ years of experience as an attorney working in a sophisticated transactional legal practice
• Excellent judgment; strong strategic, creative, and analytical thinking; business acumen; and the ability to prioritize and work autonomously on multiple projects at the same time
• Highly focused on continual learning and development
• Significant expertise drafting and negotiating contracts, including redlining documents within Microsoft Word
• Excellent English oral and written communications skills
• Team orientation that demonstrates flexibility in role
• Ability to earn the trust of (and influence the decisions of) a wide array of smart, sophisticated business colleagues at all levels of the organization
• Flexibility to support clients in numerous time zones within the United States
