Join us in powering the progress of global aerospace.Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) is based in Bangalore, India and is engaged inthe development of advanced aerospace and aviation technologies and software products.We have an immediate opening for Manager - Cloud Platform Development & Operations to lead the Cloud Platform Engineering team in Digital Aviation Solutions (DAS) India organization. The successful candidate will provide leadership towards development, implementation, and operations of DAS Cloud Platform. This role involves strategic planning, hands-on technical work, and team leadership. This position will be located in Bangalore, India and will work collaboratively with several in-country and global stakeholders to successfully execute statements of work. This role will report to a Senior Manager in the Platform Engineering organization within DAS team.Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Platform Developers and DevOps Engineers on Azure & AWS.
  • Create and maintain relationships with global stakeholders and work closely with them on planning, forecasting, execution and delivery.
  • Manage organization level budgets, schedule and overall performance standards across multiple projects.
  • Develop and implement plans to ensure business, technical and customer requirements are addressed in an efficient and timely manner. Assign authority and responsibilities to employees to execute the plan. Review plans\' execution, make appropriate adjustments, and resolve issues.
  • Forecast resource needs and make hiring decisions. Coach, counsel, mentor and provide developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities. Provide on-going developmental feedback.
  • Make compensation recommendations in regards to hiring salaries and salary review actions. Recognize contributions of individuals and teams to improve employee satisfaction and retain a skilled and motivated workforce. Enforce company rules and policies regarding ethical behavior, safety, security, use of company property, time charging, etc...
  • Convey organizational messages to facilitate the accomplishment of workgroup, project or process goals. Proactively communicates with employees, peers and customers.
  • Communicates policies and directives to enhance employee awareness of expectations.
  • Provide direction and guidance to support the advancement of tools, processes, procedures with incorporation of industry best practices.
  • Lead and deploy agile methodologies and other industry best practices across software lifecycle development.
  • Lead organization level initiatives and coordinate activities across multiple engineering capabilities.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  • Build and lead a highly engaged and motivated team.
Basic Qualification:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is a basic requirement
  • Technical Acumen
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure, and a proven track record in managing cloud-based environments
  • Proven experience as a Cloud Manager or similar role, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure services, including Azure DevOps, Azure Active Directory, Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, and networking.
  • Experience with cloud security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Technical Expertise: A strong understanding of software development methodologies, programming languages, and cloud technologies relevant to digital product development.
  • Continuous Learning: A commitment to staying updated with the latest advancements in technology, industry trends, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
  • Passion for innovation: Should have a passion for innovation and a curiosity to explore new ideas; should stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in their products.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills: The ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions is important.
  • Domain Driven Design:Good understanding of domain driven design to influence and direct the team as needed.

  • Project Management: Proficiency in managing projects and customer milestones, including planning, resource allocation, risk management, and ensuring timely delivery of products and capabilities.
  • Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, to facilitate iterative and incremental development.
  • Quality Assurance: Knowledge of quality assurance processes and methodologies to ensure the delivery of high-quality, bug-free digital products.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or Azure DevOps Engineer.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Observability, FinOps etc.
  • Understanding of hybrid cloud environments and integration with on-premises systems.
Typical Education & Experience:Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field with over 16 years of work experience in medium to large aerospace/aviation companies with at least 7 years of experience as a people manager.
