Job Description


Role ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will support the Climate Risk Management Framework, particularly focussed on integration of climate risk within the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Principal Risk Types, existing risk systems and/or processes, in line with the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Risk management approach.Strategy

  • Work alongside local and global leaders to further embed climate risk into Operational, Technology and Cyber Risk and fulfilling the requirements of second line oversight and challenge for all regulatory commitments.
  • Focus on execution while being accountable and innovative in finding ways to be part of the solution even when identifying problems
Business
  • While being focused on climate risk assessment, keep a \xe2\x80\x98think client\xe2\x80\x99 hat in any risk developments; consider how the risk assessments contribute to helping the clients build a more resilient business model.
  • Broad awareness and understanding of the bank\xe2\x80\x99s business model and risk profile.
  • Strong understanding of the bank\xe2\x80\x99s climate risk stress testing and scenario analysis approach, and wider stress testing and scenario analysis capabilities and existing processes.
Processes
  • Ensure intranet page (Bridge Space) is updated with most recent documentation, assessment forms, guidance notes, training materials
  • Work with change management for system development and ensure designs are fit for purpose, long term. Manage UAT process and timelines and clearly document all steps.
  • Support delivery of Group, Country and regional MI and supporting documentation.
  • Support delivery of Group\xe2\x80\x99s strategic risk appetite metric calculation for climate risk.
  • Contribute to overall governance mechanisms (including committee oversight and individual approval authorities) for climate risk management
  • Contribute to Group-wide RCSA reviews with respect to climate risk across all Principal Risk Types.
  • Evaluate relevant existing controls and contribute to designing new controls as required.
  • Champion awareness and education on the impacts of climate risk across the bank.
  • Programme management skills with wider risk background.
  • Aid in the drafting, tracking, and logging of documents/materials as evidence for BCBS 239 compliance, including for reporting requirements, data quality framework and infrastructure requirements.
Risk Management
  • Contribute to Group-wide RCSA reviews with respect to climate risk across all Principal Risk Types.
  • Evaluate relevant existing controls and contribute to designing new controls as required.
Governance
  • Ensure that outcomes delivered, including necessary controls are fit for purpose and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s risk governance disciplines are adhered with.
  • Contribute to overall governance mechanisms (including committee oversight and individual approval authorities) for climate risk management.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. QUALIFICATIONS
TRAINING, LICENSES, MEMBERSHIPS AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Market Knowledge: Strong experience in Risk Management (experience with Environmental, Social & Governance risk management preferred)
  • Strong experience in a similar bank with 6-8 years of experience in MFU, data quality framework, operational risk framework, MS Excel and Power Point.
  • Good communicator, in particular written communications in English
  • Ability to explain complex matters in simple and intuitive terms
  • Ability to track and report progress updates of multiple areas against milestones and highlight key issues
  • Collaborative: working as part of a broader team to ensure a coordinated and consistent approach
  • Good organiser of incoming requests within the team
  • Ability to work with minimal direction
  • Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to the Group\'s core values.
