Entity Maintenance (EM) is part of Data and Analytics Office (DAO) is responsible for set-up and maintenance of Client Entity Reference data and client unique identifiers in ERDS (Entity Reference Data System) Golden Source system. This involves setting up, independently validating the client legal entity status, and maintaining up to date client information for the Global Banking & Commercial banking (CMB) line of business. The function leverages globally consistent operating principles and a standard service proposition to deliver high-quality client data and its ongoing maintenance throughout the client life cycle with HSBC. The function operates globally as one integrated team with to provide service across the group. The function supports the onboarding process by undertaking initial client entity legal verification and then subsequently setting up trading accounts and loading settlement instructions. The function is supported by a hub-spoke model, whereby teams undertake all the processing work for over 56 countries and onshore hub provides business relationship management and support. Given the nature of the data function maintains, the team is also supporting client data readiness for Global Standards, various regulatory demands impacting GBM business including client off boarding. The role of Manager - Business Consulting is reporting to a Lead Assistant Vice President/Lead VP, this role will be sitting within the Group Data and Analytics Office (DAO).The successful candidate will be working with the Customer Data Management team to support on data management and maintaining the customer data while collaborating with the DAO Customer Leads ,Delivery teams and technology teams; ensure we meet our business objectives and successfully implement & sustain customer Management process, and support delivery of data requirements from various businesses and functions across the bank. The Manager - Business Consulting primarily supports the Connect pillar of the strategy. Key priorities include:
  • This role supports Data Controls Demands Integration through the application of a unified global operating model (people, process, tech)
  • Work with the various customer data management PODs to implement, administer and enhance the Customer Data management process, including support for book of work management for the various delivery teams.
  • Collaboration activities across various functions and teams within the DAO thus enabling timely and quality deliverables.
  • Work closely with the Delivery teams to support delivery of the Customer Data Management book of work and enable progress tracking through reports generation at Executive, Management and Operational levels.
  • Create progress tracking reports and bring out actionable insights for Quarterly Business reviews, Management reviews (Monthly) and Operational level reporting reconciliation activities between GCDU and Client central and work on a tactical resolution for CIS.
  • Create and maintain user acceptance test/ business scenarios for new or modified features of customer data management and support in conducting a detailed review and analyse business process, serve as a bridge/liaison between business and technology teams.
  • Competent in the use of data technology to solve complex business problems and user acceptance testing with hands on expertise in use of SQL & Mongo DB, Unix, Python, APIs, Alteryx, Microsoft Excel.
  • Performs remediation activities such as analysing data to fix the data in CC and liaise with key staeholders, understand the commercial banking data and to incorporate the changes in Client Central.
  • Define and manage the monitoring of the quality of data and remediate to ensure sufficient standard of data quality across all markets.
  • Build Reporting Cases, Data Profiling and reporting capability for CC for new consumers.
  • Support the upcoming CC enhancement releases to have robust golden source of CBS by collaborating with Business and MDM IT
Governance and Committee Memberships (membership of ExCos, Risk Management Meeting)
  • Nil breaches on conduct, data, and Information Control policy within the process. Immediate escalation on control failures and issues identified, followed by timely DES submission.
What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do: Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities Key responsibilities include some of but not limited to:
  • Work with the various customer data management PODs to implement, administer and enhance the Customer Data management process, including support for book of work management for the various delivery teams.

  • Support DAO Data utility with Data simplification deliverables.
  • Organise / deliver trainings on the end-to-end Master Data Management process.
  • Review, understand and document Customer Data Control requirements coming from various Businesses / customers / functions whilst collaborating with Delivery teams.
  • Maintaining a high level of engagement with key customers and balance business demands against quality targets.
  • Supporting various Delivery teams with management of their Book of work, Prioritisation and delivery deadlines as required.
  • Support, develop and implement the use of global standard automated workflows to regulate the change, creation, extension and extinction process for all customer master data.
  • Support in oversight and gate keeping capacity for review of master data ensuring complete standardization so that only accurate data is updated and maintained.
  • Pro-actively ensure master data components meets evolving business and country requirements and participate as a subject matter expert in initiatives related to data quality and master data management solutions.
  • Create and maintain user acceptance test/ business scenarios for new or modified features of customer data management and support in conducting a detailed review and analyse business process, serve as a bridge/liaison between business and technology teams.
  • Should bring in experience in business process analysis, mapping current state processes, controls and adept in defining future state processes in partnership with business and technology teams.
Leadership & Teamwork
  • Co-ordinates and oversees work for the department to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Direct involvement in regulatory audits and performance tracking ensuring nil repeated finding and any audit recommendation/finding are closed within agreed timelines. All tasks for global standards and procedures are aligned as per FIM guidelines.
  • 100% completion rate of mandatory training and Global Standards programme training for self & team, before due date.
  • Lead and drive CSR activities, Rewards and Recognition for the entire team/department.
  • Support staff well-being by acting as first point of contact for any clarification on various employee assistance program offered by the organization.
  • Work as a team and drive the teamwork culture across all the levels.





Requirements
What you will need to succeed in the role:
  • Proven experience within the Data and Analytics space with awareness of industry data standards.
  • Good understanding of the Data Management Framework and all verticals (Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Privacy, Data Security, Data Ethics etc.) within Data Management Charter.
  • Knowledge of Business Architecture & analysis, requirements engineering, product backlog management, structured analysis and process mapping.
  • Structured analytical problem-solving skills, able to breakdown complex problems and find solutions.
  • Ability to synthesize / analyse diverse information, develop recommendations and make decisions.
  • Strong Planning, execution and organisational skills.
  • Understands and effectively uses established policies and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal communicating skills, bridging technology and business teams, ensuring clarity of requirements to key partners at all levels.
  • Competent in the use of data technology to solve complex business problems and user acceptance testing with hands on expertise in use of SQL & Mongo DB, Unix, Python, APIs, Alteryx, Microsoft Excel.

  • Prototyping, experimentation, development, and implementation of various analytical techniques using tools such as SQL, Python, Qliksense.

  • Cross-disciplinary skills to lead data exploratory analysis, run POCs and prototypes, having a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end data lifecycle.
  • Experience in engaging with and communicating to technical and non-technical audiences and capable of identifying the best data solution to solve business problems.
  • Broad understanding of different analytical techniques (e.g., NLP, Optimisation, Classification, regression) and data types (structured, unstructured, semi-structured) and their utilisation.
  • Strong quantitative background e.g., Mathematics, Statistics and Probability and be able to perform complex queries using Data Science tools e.g., SQL, Python,Qliksense.
