Job descriptionJOB DESCRIPTION OF A MANAGER-ENGINEERING PROJECTS The Manager will be responsible for overseeing all the aspects of the engineering departments within the organization. E.M.\xe2\x80\x99s primary focus will be to lead and manage a team Engineers, drive innovation, ensure project success and contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the company. Key Responsibilities include:
Team Leadership \xe2\x80\x93 Providing strategic direction, guidance and leadership to the engineering team.
Build and develop a high-performing engineering team by recruiting, training, monitoring and evaluating staff.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
Engineering Operations \xe2\x80\x93 Develop and implement engineering strategies, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient departmental operations. * Monitor and manage RFQs/RFPs, engineering budgets, resources and timelines for projects.
Ensure adherence to industry best practices, quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Project Management \xe2\x80\x93 Oversee and manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously from initiation to completion.
Define project scope, objectives, deliverables and resource requirements.
Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or roadblocks, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product management, manufacturing, quality assurance) to ensure successful project execution.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement \xe2\x80\x93 Foster a culture of innovation within the engineering team and encourage the development and implementation of new technologies, processes, and product improvements. * Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction and quality enhancement and implement appropriate strategies.
Stakeholder Management \xe2\x80\x93 Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., executive leadership, product management, sales) to align engineering goals with overall business objectives.
Interact with customers, suppliers and external partners to understand their requirements, address technical concerns, and build strong relationships.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting \xe2\x80\x93 Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the engineering department. * Regularly report on the progress, performance and achievements of engineering projects and initiatives to the executive leadership team.
Requirements :
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s or Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree of Engineering Field (e.g., Mechanical Engg., Electrical Engg., Electronics, Aeronautical/Aerospace Engg).
Extensive experience (typically 15+ years) in engineering Manger roles with progressively increasing responsibilities.
Proven track record of leading and managing engineering teams, including hiring, monitoring and performance evaluation.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
In depth knowledge of engineering principles, methodologies and best practices.
Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
Strategic mindset with the ability to align engineering efforts with business objectives.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Adaptability and willingness to embrace new technologies and industry trends.
