The Management Accountant position is responsible for supporting the Senior Management Accountants in the production of Monthly and Annualized Management Accounts for the business. Ensuring that assigned balance sheets are accurately reconciled and produced in line with the wider business balance sheet, enabling a clear view of business performance.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Production of Monthly Management Accounts:

• Manage accurate and timely delivery of financial reporting and month close activities, supported by variance analysis
• Ensuring that the management accounts are produced in a coherent and consistent manner and in a way that mirrors how the business is run.
• Prepare and posting of accruals, prepayment, and deferred transactions alongside providing the analysis and key highlights
• Prepare and manage balance sheet reconciliations of the key accounts.
• Assist with any other ad hoc duties.

Cross-Functional Support:

• Become a business partner to the business, delivering monthly and ad hoc. analysis (e.g.
• product-specific revenue and margin analysis) that complements the management accounts
• and enables smart commercial and operational decisions.

Audit Support

• Support and provide details and working papers to auditors as required for all Management Accounts transactions and postings.

Integrity of Accounts:

• Ownership of the balance sheet for the entities under your responsibility, and a point of contact for the audit team.
• Continuous Improvement and Change Programmers
• Continuously improve the organization of work, processes and data integrity affecting the management accounts.
• Be a change leader in delivering cross-departmental changes required to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our accounting and forecasting.
• Integration of accounting processes and systems across multiple entities.
• Drive consistency of revenue classification and reporting definitions
• 3 to 5+ years of professional experience in accounting.
• Experience of month-end close and producing a profit & loss and balance sheet for an entity/division
• Experienced in using Sage 200 or equivalent, and efficiently accessing data required to review and interrogate
• Experience successfully managing audit requirements
• Experience in a commercial environment working closely with non-finance teams is preferable but not essential
• Proven record in identifying and delivering opportunities for continuous improvement
• System savvy especially Advanced Excel skills
• Knowledge of UK GAAP is must
