The Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing primary support to production in troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing equipment downtime to ensure maximum output. The role will support continuous improvement initiatives and the installation and validation of tools and equipment. This person will work closely with the engineering team to execute all equipment-related activities.


This position is part of the Engineering Function and will be located in Bengaluru •.• At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• work closely with Manufacturing and Engineering to monitor equipment status and performance
• You will be proactive in addressing problems using the appropriate troubleshooting and repair techniques
• In addition, you will assess the equipment's performance and repair history and work with engineers to plan a preventative maintenance schedule as well as work on equipment upgrades as appropriate

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical engineering
• 2-4 years of relevant experience in Medical Device or related industry.

Physical/Environment Requirements:

• Ability to work in manufacturing environment
• Must be flexible to work off-shifts and weekends as per production schedule.
• Ability to lift upto 25 pounds
• Frequent kneeling and bending

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• PLC knowledge and experience is a plus
• Experience from working in manufacturing environment
