This role involves managing maintenance staff, coordinating maintenance activities, and ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for guests and staff. Key Responsibilities:
- Facility Maintenance and Repair:
- Oversee routine maintenance and repair of the hotel\'s facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
- Ensure all electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems are operating efficiently.
- Address maintenance issues promptly to minimize downtime and inconvenience to guests.
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program for all equipment and facilities.
- Schedule regular inspections and maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and extend the life of equipment.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and inspections.
- Staff Supervision:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance staff and contractors.
- Provide training and guidance to maintenance team members.
- Ensure maintenance staff follow safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Guest Service:
- Respond to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff in a timely and courteous manner.
- Ensure that maintenance issues are resolved quickly to maintain guest satisfaction.
- Monitor guest feedback regarding maintenance issues and implement improvements as needed.
- Vendor and Contractor Management:
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services.
- Monitor the quality of work performed by contractors and ensure compliance with hotel standards.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with service providers.
- Inventory and Resource Management:
- Manage the inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure that all necessary materials are available for maintenance tasks.
- Monitor and control maintenance costs, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect guests, staff, and property.
- Energy Management:
- Monitor and optimize the hotel\'s energy consumption.
- Implement energy-saving measures and initiatives.
- Maintain records of energy usage and savings.
- Emergency Response:
- Coordinate emergency maintenance and repair activities to minimize disruption to guests.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for critical equipment failures.
- Ensure that maintenance staff are trained to handle emergencies effectively.
- Education: Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Maintenance Manager - CMM) are a plus.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
