Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team in the chemical industry. The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and reliability of plant equipment and machinery to ensure smooth operations and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
• Equipment Maintenance:
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of process equipment, including pumps, reactors, heat exchangers, and instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues and perform repairs as needed.
• Implement maintenance strategies to optimize equipment reliability and performance.
• Emergency Response:
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergencies to minimize production losses.
• Develop contingency plans and procedures for emergency situations.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures, and regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA) in all maintenance activities.
• Conduct safety audits and risk assessments for maintenance tasks.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment histories, and maintenance logs.
• Prepare reports on equipment performance, maintenance metrics, and improvement initiatives.
• Team Collaboration:
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and safety teams to coordinate maintenance activities and optimize plant efficiency.
• Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance technicians and operators.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and safety.
• Participate in root cause analysis and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs.
Qualifications:
• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance engineering, preferably in a chemical manufacturing or process industry.
• Experience with rotating equipment, process instrumentation, and PLC systems is highly desirable.
• Skills:
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
• Proficiency in maintenance management systems (CMMS) and computer-aided maintenance tools.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to perform root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Requirements:
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations relevant to chemical manufacturing.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to plant emergencies as needed.
• Certification in maintenance-related fields (e.g., CMRP, PMP) is a plus.
