Job Summary:
The Maintenance Executive is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the smooth operation of all maintenance-related tasks in the hotel and restaurant premises. This includes performing routine inspections, managing repairs, overseeing preventive maintenance schedules, and ensuring the safety and functionality of the building, equipment, and systems. The role demands attention to detail, strong technical skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
• Routine Maintenance and Repairs:
• Perform routine inspections of all hotel and restaurant facilities, including guest rooms, kitchens, dining areas, restrooms, HVAC systems, and public spaces.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from hotel staff and restaurant team, ensuring issues are addressed quickly and efficiently.
• Perform basic repairs and troubleshooting for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other mechanical systems.
• Preventive Maintenance:
• Develop, implement, and oversee preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the longevity of hotel and restaurant equipment and infrastructure.
• Ensure that all equipment, appliances, and systems are maintained according to the manufacturer's instructions and safety standards.
• Regularly monitor the performance of air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, and lighting systems, scheduling repairs and replacements as necessary.
• Emergency Maintenance:
• Be available for emergency maintenance calls during off-hours as needed, particularly for urgent issues such as power failures, plumbing blockages, or equipment breakdowns.
• Coordinate with vendors or contractors for any complex repairs that are beyond in-house capabilities.
• Vendor and Contractor Management:
• Coordinate with external vendors or contractors for specialized maintenance services or equipment repair needs.
• Ensure that all third-party vendors meet the safety, quality, and service standards required by the hotel and restaurant.
• Manage work orders, monitor progress, and verify the completion of outsourced repairs or maintenance.
• Safety Compliance and Standards:
• Ensure all safety standards, regulations, and building codes are adhered to, including fire and electrical safety.
• Maintain all relevant documentation for inspections, repairs, and maintenance work to ensure compliance with local authorities.
• Work closely with the housekeeping and security teams to ensure a safe and clean environment for guests and staff.
• Inventory and Supplies Management:
• Maintain an inventory of necessary tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies, ordering new stock when needed.
• Ensure that all equipment is in working order and properly stored when not in use.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with other departments, including housekeeping, front desk, kitchen, and restaurant staff, to identify and address maintenance needs.
• Assist with coordination for major renovations or projects when required.
• Guest Satisfaction:
• Ensure that maintenance issues are resolved in a timely manner to avoid disruption to guest experience.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with guests or staff.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a maintenance role, preferably within the hotel or restaurant industry.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance systems.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently and effectively.
• Communication: Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact with guests, staff, and contractors.
• Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Certification (Preferred): Relevant certifications in electrical, plumbing, or general maintenance would be an advantage.
Working Conditions:
• Regular shifts, including weekends and holidays, depending on the hotel's operation.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies at any time.
• On-call availability for urgent repairs during off-hours.
