Job Description

Transportation Planning:
a. Generate truck indent plan which are optimized for targeted truck utilization,
maximized vehicle mix and as per share compliance of listed transporters.
b. Coordinate with internal stake holders to fore-cast transportation needs.
2. Logistics Coordination:
a. Schedule and co-ordinate movement of Goods
b. Monitor and Manage transportation operations, ensuring timely delivery and
adherence to schedules
c. Collaborate with Transporters, Operations Team and Regional team for streamlining
operations
3. Regulatory Compliance:
a. Ensure all transportation activities comply with regulations
b. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of transportation laws and regulations
c. Assess and mitigate risks associated with transportation operations
4. Attached fleet trip monitoring:
a. Develop route and trip plan from manufacturing units to warehouse for maximizing
deliveries
b. Analyze daily load patterns at manufacturing units for the route by months along with
costs and propose for contract basis potential savings.
c. Coordinate with Warehouse and manufacturing units for timely loading/ unloading of
trucks
d. Responsible for maximizing the trips for attached fleet for a route.
5. Performance Monitoring:
a. Responsible for tracking and providing monthly savings against plan.Logistics Executive MIS & Transportation Page 2 of 2
b. Monitor on daily basis the service level metrics such as truck placement accuracy, transit
reliability, truck utilization/vehicle mix and other metrics relating to primary transportation
performance.
c. Track and report on transportation performance metrics like Freight cost per Ton, Transit
Time Monitoring Adherence, Detention Monitoring, Truck Utilization, Attached truck trip
monitoring, etc
d. Identify areas of improvement and implement ideas to improve efficiency and reduce
costs.
e. Conduct regular reviews of Transportation costs and negotiate rates with Transporters.
