The Logistics Executive is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the movement of goods from suppliers to distributors or end customers. The role ensures that the transportation and storage of food products adhere to regulatory requirements and company standards, maintaining product quality and safety throughout the supply chain.
Supply Chain Management:Coordinate and manage the entire supply chain process, including procurement, warehousing, distribution, and transportation.Ensure timely delivery of products to clients or retail locations.
Transportation Coordination:Organize and oversee inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring cost-effective and timely transportation.Coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and manage relationships with carriers and freight forwarders.Ensure compliance with cold chain management to maintain the integrity of perishable goods.
Warehouse Management:Supervise warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods.
Implement inventory control procedures to minimize wastage and stock discrepancies.
Maintain optimal stock levels to meet production and delivery demands.
Quality Assurance:Ensure all food products are stored and transported in compliance with food safety and quality standards, such as HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points).
Monitor temperature-controlled storage and vehicles to avoid spoilage.
Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of logistics activities, including shipping documentation, invoices, and inventory reports.Generate reports on logistics performance, delivery timelines, and costs.
Cost Control:Monitor logistics expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising product quality or service levels.Negotiate contracts and rates with transportation providers.
Compliance and Safety:Ensure compliance with local and international regulations related to food transportation and safety.
Implement safety protocols for the handling and transportation of food products.
Collaboration:Work closely with procurement, production, and sales teams to forecast demand and manage logistics accordingly.
Handle customer complaints and resolve issues related to delays, product damage, or stock shortages.
