Job Description
Summary:
The Export Documentation Specialist is responsible for preparing and processing export documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, export declarations, and other paperwork required for exporting goods internationally.
Responsibilities:
- Review purchase orders and work with appropriate departments to gather necessary documentation and information for exports.
- Prepare commercial invoices, packing lists, export declarations, and other export documents according to regulatory requirements.
- Classify commodities using Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes and determine licensing requirements.
- Work closely with logistics staff to ensure proper documentation accompanies shipments.
- Maintain thorough knowledge and comply with all export regulations including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
- Experience with AES filings
- Resolve any discrepancies or issues with export paperwork.
- Bachelor\'s degree in supply chain management, business, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in export/import documentation, global trade, or compliance
- Knowledge of export regulations including EAR, customs guidelines
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proficiency with export documentation software and MS Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
