Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise Loading/Unloading: Oversee the loading and unloading process to ensure it is done correctly and safely. This includes proper placement of goods to avoid damage during transit.
• Manage Loading Schedules: Coordinate loading and unloading activities to meet delivery timelines, optimize vehicle capacity, and minimize delays.
• Inspect Goods: Verify the condition and quantity of goods before loading, ensuring that they match the transport documentation (waybills, packing lists, etc.).
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all staff follow safety regulations and protocols during the loading process, such as the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), handling heavy objects, and using forklifts or other equipment safely.
• Staff Supervision: Manage and lead a team of loaders, provide instructions, allocate tasks, and ensure effective teamwork.
• Inventory Management: Keep track of goods being loaded/unloaded, maintain accurate records, and report any discrepancies or damage.
• Coordinate with Drivers: Ensure that drivers are aware of the load distribution to avoid overloading or unbalanced loads that could affect driving safety.
• Reporting: Prepare and submit daily reports on loading activities, including any issues encountered (e.g., damaged goods, delays).
• Equipment Management: Ensure all loading equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) is in good working condition and report any maintenance needs.
• Customer Interaction: Occasionally interact with clients to ensure their goods are handled with care and meet delivery expectations.
