We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Linux Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Linux Support Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our Linux-based systems, providing support to internal teams, and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
1. Linux System Administration: Responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux-based servers and workstations. Monitor system performance and promptly address any issues that may arise.
2. Docker Expertise: Proficient in Docker containerization technology, including building, managing, and troubleshooting Docker containers. Utilize Docker to streamline deployment processes and improve scalability.
3. Networking Proficiency: Demonstrate strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and routing. Troubleshoot network-related problems and optimize network performance.
4. Technical Support: Provide efficient and effective technical support to internal teams and end-users. Respond to inquiries, troubleshoot reported issues, and offer timely resolutions to maintain optimal system functionality.
5. Security Management: Implement security best practices to safeguard our systems and data. Monitor for potential security threats and take necessary measures to protect the organization from cyber risks.
6. Monitoring and Alerting: Set up monitoring tools to ensure the continuous monitoring of systems and services. Proactively identify potential problems and take corrective actions to prevent service interruptions.
7. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures. This includes creating technical guides and knowledge base articles for internal reference.
8. Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps, and IT operations, to streamline processes and implement improvements.
9. Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Linux, Docker, and networking technologies. Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance system efficiency.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Linux Professional Institute Certification, Docker Certified Associate) will be advantageous.
2. Proven work experience as a Linux Support Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on Linux system administration, Docker, and networking.
3. In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat) and command-line proficiency.
4. Hands-on experience with Docker, container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes), and managing containerized applications.
5. Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs.
6. Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently.
8. Solid communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with team members and end-users.
9. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
