Job Description

Expertise in Unix/Linux systems administration (bash scripting, system monitoring, etc.).Proficiency in Python scripting for automation and database interactions.Experience with AWS CloudWatch, IAM, VPC, and security groups related to RDS.Knowledge of database engines supported by AWS RDS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.).Understanding of DevOps concepts like Infrastructure as Code (IaC), ideally using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE, etc.) across physical and virtual environmentsManage and maintain enterprise-level Unix/Linux environments, handling complex issues and escalations.Automate repetitive tasks and system administration processes using scripting (e.g., Shell, bash Python, Perl).Manage file systems, user accounts, access permissions, and storage provisioning.Ensure uptime and security by regularly applying patches, updates, and security hardeningExecute and lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning, including regular system backups and restores.Monitor system health, troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, and optimize resource utilization (CPU, memory, disk, network).System performance tuning, including kernel tuning, disk I/O tuning, and network performance optimizationImplement and maintain security best practices, including SELinux, iptables, firewall configurations, and regular security patches.Maintain RAID and other data redundancy configurations to ensure high availability and fault tolerance.Good Experience with AWS Database like RDS (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL), DynamoDB, and Redshift. Experience in Azure technologies like RDS Azure, SQL, Cosmos DB.Develop and maintain Python scripts for automation of routine database tasks (e.g., backups, performance checks, and reporting).Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using AWS CloudFormation and Terraform to automate the provisioning of cloud infrastructure.Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related fieldFive years of experience in Unix Linux system administrationFour years of experience in Python scripting for automationLinux Professional CertificationsCloud Associate Certificate
