Role Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Line Cook (Commis 2) to join our base kitchen team for a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR). The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing ingredients, following recipes, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring high-quality food production in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Food Preparation:
• Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning.
• Follow recipes and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency in food quality.
• Cooking Duties:
• Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, and ovens as required.
• Execute basic cooking tasks like frying, sauteing, grilling, or steaming under the supervision of senior staff.
• Quality Control:
• Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented according to the restaurant's quality and safety standards.
• Monitor food freshness and report any quality issues to the supervisor.
• Cleanliness and Hygiene:
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to sanitation and safety regulations.
• Participate in daily cleaning schedules for kitchen equipment and storage areas.
• Inventory and Stock Management:
• Assist in receiving, labeling, and storing kitchen supplies.
• Report shortages or discrepancies in stock to the Kitchen Supervisor.
• Collaboration and Teamwork:
• Work closely with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy hours.
• Assist senior chefs and take up additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Proven experience as a Commis 2 or similar role, preferably in a QSR or fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Basic understanding of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene.
• Ability to follow recipes and directions precisely.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.
• Physical stamina to work in a high-pressure environment.
Educational Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary certification is a plus.
