Job Description

Job Summary:

The Legal Officer will be responsible for managing the legal affairs of the company, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing legal support to various departments. This role requires a thorough understanding of the ARC sector, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Legal Compliance:

o Monitor changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment and take appropriate action.

Contract Management :

o Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.

o Maintain a comprehensive database of all legal documents and agreements.

Litigation Management:

o Engage the legal counsels, manage and coordinate with them on litigation matters involving the company.

o Represent the company in legal proceedings wherever required.

Advisory:

o Provide legal advice and support to various departments, including finance, HR, operations, and risk management.

o Vetting of section 14 SARFAESI applications, its filing and follow up, vetting of reply to legal notices, vetting of court pleadings in respect of all litigations, attending the COC meeting and attending the court proceedings wherever required.

o Assist in the development of policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks.

Corporate Governance:

o Ensure compliance with corporate governance best practices.

Regulatory Filings:

o Oversee and manage all regulatory filings and ensure timely submission to the appropriate authorities.

o Liaise with regulatory bodies and government agencies as necessary.

Risk Management:

o Identify potential legal risks and provide guidance on risk mitigation strategies.

o Conduct legal audits and ensure corrective measures are implemented.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB). A Master's degree in Law (LLM) or a related field is an advantage.

Skills:

o Strong knowledge of ARC regulations and the legal framework governing the ARC sector.

o Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

o Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.

o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

o High ethical standards and integrity.

o Knowledge of IBC and SARFAESI act is must.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?15,000.00 - ?20,000.00 per month
