We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Legal Counsel, Digital Legal Services


Principal responsibilities


• Under supervision of Senior Legal Counsel, provide legal support to the business on commercial, Information Technology, Internet Protocol and Data legal enquiries and transactions.
• Review policies, guidance and transaction documentation, on which the job holder is supporting, for adherence to internal policies and procedures, to manage legal risk.
• Use agreed channels to escalate matters where necessary to ensure the business receives timely and appropriate legal support from the right legal team and level of lawyer
• The jobholder will be responsible for assisting line management / the wider Digital & Global legal services team on commercial / vendor contract, Information Technology, Internet Protocol and Data queries and transactions (supervised as required by Senior Legal Counsel) and must have the ability to support a range of contractual and commercial legal issues
• Maintain a detailed knowledge of Group operations and policies including other Second Line Of Defense teams to be able to identify potential issues to ensure the relevant teams are involved
• Answering legal queries on commercial contracts or matters of policy or law routed to the Digital legal services team, in the areas of commercial contracts, Information Technology, Internet Protocol and Data.
Requirements
• Indian qualified Lawyer with a minimum of 8-10 years post qualification law experience preferably in commercial contracting and/or IT.
• Strong understanding of vendor/ Commercial contracting
• contract management, IT Contract /commercial contract, Statement of Work, Master Service Agreement ,Call of contract, negotiation, contract review, dealing with business people in creating contracts in place, Request for Proposal
• Strong communication and inter-personal skills.
• Lateral thinking/problem solving.
• Financial Regulatory experience and an understanding of risk management is an advantage, but not essential.
