Job Overview:

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Payment System Architect to join our team. As the Payment System Architect, you will be pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining our payment system infrastructure. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring scalability, reliability, and security for the Amadeus Payment Platform while integrating with various payment gateways, banks, and PSPs. You will also be instrumental in designing and building the next generation products focussed on accelerating our revenue growth and supporting market expansion. In addition, you will be responsible for porting existing C++ technologies to the Azure cloud platform and driving the development of new products and features using cloud-native architecture.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Design, develop, and maintain the payment system architecture, leveraging your hands-on experience and technical expertise.

Delve into details on the current system architecture, evaluate, document, propose improvements, align with the core architecture group, and ensure smooth delivery.

Drive solutioning activities and be a key decision maker while influencing the evolution of the payment platform.

Drive innovation and choice of architecture / technologies to support the long term product roadmap ambition.

Serve as the point of contact for the technical teams, collaborating closely with developers, engineers, and product managers to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.

Lead the migration of existing C++ technologies to the Azure cloud platform, guiding the team through the process and ensuring a seamless transition.

Drive the migration to cloud native technologies, support interoperability, and make the correct choices for the evolution of the hybrid platform while ensuring security, reliability, scalability of the service based architecture.

Drive the development of new payment products and features using cloud-native architectures, such as Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and messaging systems like Kafka.

Actively promote technology evangelism by staying up-to-date with emerging trends, evaluating new tools and frameworks, and advocating for their adoption when appropriate.

Foster a collaborative environment by working closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, gather feedback, and deliver high-quality solutions.

Conduct code reviews and system testing, and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices to maintain code quality and integrity.

Monitor and analyse system performance using tools like Grafana, Splunk, and Kibana, proactively identifying areas for improvement and taking necessary actions.

Serve as a mentor, providing technical guidance and support to junior team members, promoting their growth and development.

Act as a technology evangelist within the organisation, sharing knowledge and best practices and encouraging the adoption of new technologies and methodologies.

The Ideal Candidate

Education & Qualifications:

Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Proven hands-on experience as a Payment System Architect or similar role, with a track record of successfully delivering complex payment system solutions.

Knowledge of Payment Systems on some or all these topics like payment authorisation, Card acceptance, Acquiring, Reconciliation, Payment Gateway, Vault, Alternative modes of payment, Wallets, Card Issuance, Security, PCIDSSetc

Strong technical proficiency in C++ programming language, with the ability to port existing C++ technologies to the Azure cloud platform.

Extensive experience with cloud-native architectures and technologies, such as Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, messaging systems like Kafka, and cloud platforms like Azure.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, serving as a point of contact for technical discussions and requirements gathering.

Passion for technology evangelism, staying updated with industry trends, and driving innovation within the organisation.

Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools like Grafana, Splunk, and Kibana to ensure system performance and troubleshoot issues.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical challenges.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Prior experience in the financial industry or payment processing or Banking industry domain is highly desirable.
