Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Manages customer expectations and issues with software releases providing a prioritized list of requests to business unit per platform. Independently learn and investigate customer's high value problem (HVP), systemic bug or software failures.
• Responsible for verifying and validating software functionality. Performs customer scenario validation for key enhancements.
• Engages early with product software development team on customer features. Creates Field Readiness and Software Readiness checklists for New Product Introductions. Responsible for smooth transition from development to deployment and acceptance at the customer sites.
• Creates and manages software feature documentation, develops, and conducts software training programs for field support teams.
• Possesses the ability to differentiate between hardware, software, and other configuration issues. Analyses and debugs issues using product source code.
• Manages customer expectations during escalations. Interfaces with various peer groups to provide workaround and solutions to complex software problems. Provides timely updates to all stakeholders and drives escalations to closure. Ensures software is not a showstopper for product success/performance.
• Provides support to Lab technicians in validating complex software features and interfaces with software development team to resolve any issues arising during testing of software features in the lab.
• Designs, drives, and sustains initiatives, Best Known Methods and internal software utilities that help improve team efficiency and productivity.
• Manages customer commits, tracks software performance and quality at external customer sites. Actively feedback customer scenarios and use cases to software Test teams to improve Product software quality.

Experience, Skills and Educational Requirements:

• Excellent analytical skills, methodical problem-solving skills and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to interact with extended teams spread across the globe.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in software product support
• Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science/Information Science/Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation with strong background in Industrial automation software.
• Background in Semiconductor Manufacturing/Industrial Automation is an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of SDLC
• Prior experience in SQA methodologies is an added advantage.
• Exposure to programming languages like C, C++, Java is needed.
• Self-motivated and willing to learn new skills and technologies as needed.
• Ability to meet objectives, goals, and deadlines with minimal supervision.
