Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data processing applications using Apache Spark and Scala.
• Collaborate with data engineers, product managers, and analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into efficient data processing solutions.
• Optimize and tune Spark applications for performance and scalability.
• Implement data quality checks and ensure data integrity throughout the processing pipelines.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production data pipelines, ensuring reliability and uptime.
• Work with large datasets from various sources, transforming and enriching them to meet analytical requirements.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in big data technologies and apply them to improve our data processing capabilities.
• Participate in code reviews, provide feedback, and ensure best practices are followed.
Document data processing workflows and maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 6+ years of experience as a Spark Scala Engineer or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Scala programming language.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark, including Spark SQL, Spark Streaming, and Spark MLlib.
• Solid understanding of design patterns, distributed computing principles and big data technologies.
• Experience with JSON, jQuery, or similar technologies
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Proficient in SQL and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their big data services.
• Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience Unit Testing Frameworks & Tools like TestNG, JUnit, JMeter and Apex Unit testing frameworks
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
