It starts with YOU.In this role, you will:Provides front-end application UI design and development.Executes and ensures robust unit, regression, and integration testing.Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges.Work closely with UX designers on the feasibility of the design.Collaborate with engineering and product development teams.Provides advanced technical support and enhancements as needed.The Digital Technology Solutions (DTS) R&D UI Software Engineer is responsible for turning UI/UX designs for custom software applications into reality for the Research & Development (R&D) capability area and in some cases, cross capability areas such as Quality and Sustainability.The role collaborates with business analysts, the UI/UX designer, solution architects, and other software engineers to understand the requirements and then develops the frontend (UI) of the solution. This role is viewed as an expert in frontend UI software application design and development, encompassing both business process understanding, technical expertise, and advanced concepts in frontend software development.Leads in providing front-end software engineering execution of prototypes and final solutions for complex strategic and operating problems.Has strong knowledge in business and technical functions that are touch points with their area of expertise.Acts as a source of direction, training and guidance for other team members. Is knowledgeable in industry best practices in their area of expertise and uses resources outside of K-C to deliver the front-end UI of custom software solutions.Role will report to an Associate Director in the DTS organization that supports the K-C R&D business function. Role will not have direct reports. Key Interfaces: Product Owner, Business Analysts, Business Clients, Solution Architects, Platform Architect, Data Engineers, UI/UX Designer, Software Engineers, and Scrum Master. To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

• 5 or more yearsxe2x80x99 experience in UI development using React.js and Node.js. (API consumption, RESTful APIs)
• Clear understanding of SDLC processes and methodologies.
• Experience with both Web and Mobile applications using latest JavaScript frameworks like React, Redux, Reactive frontends, Type Script, HTML5, CSS, responsive design.
• Knowledge in Azure Cloud Native Development, Web App, Sass/Compass or Less.
• Familiarity with front-end build tools, Webpack, Gulp, Babel.
• Basic Web Security (CORS, CSP), Authentication Handling with OAuth/OKTA.
• Strong understanding of UX/UI principles, responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, Implement UI/UX design
• Good knowledge on Unit testing, Selenium, React testing
• Awareness of Pipelines using Azure DevOps, Frontend Deployment (CI\CD & Git branching)
• Should have worked in Agile and aware of its practices.
• Prior experience supporting an R&D function is valuable.
• Analytical mind and business acumen.
• Problem-solving aptitude.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in computer science, Engineering, or relevant field.
• Excellent communication skills - verbal and written fluency in English is mandatory; Ability to work in a virtual team which may work across distance (remote), cultures and time zones, in a matrix with multiple reporting lines, and may extend outside the K-C organization including suppliers, partners and customers.
